Just 8 choices!! In case you didn't know, you can add up to 35 choices. Below are some suggestions, but that is just scratching the surface. Also, you might want to add criteria for year or ratings.

FYC:

In Bruges (2008)
Happiness (1998)
Brazil (1985)
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979)
The Truman Show (1998)
Being John Malkovich (1999)
O Brother where art thou? (2000)
Adaptation. (2002)
Hot Fuzz (2007)
Delicatessen (1991)

Btw a good poll, if it hasn't been done before!!!

I saw shun of the dead, life of brian, the truman show and hot fuzz before.

I like the truman show and life of brian.

And thanks for suggestions.

Hot Fuzz might top my list. For earlier candidates consider 1965's The Loved One, and Mondo Cane, which broke new ground in1962 as perhaps the first "shockumentary". A. decade later, we got The Groove Tube and Kentucky Fried Movie. A delightfully mordant progression.

I second The Trouble with Harry (1955)
The trouble with Harry is that he's dead, and everyone seems to have a different idea of what should be done with his body.

For your consideration:
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
A writer of books on the futility of marriage risks his reputation when he decides to get married. Things get even more complicated when he learns on his wedding day that his beloved maiden aunts are habitual murderers.

Weekend at Bernie's (1989)
Two losers try to pretend that their murdered employer is really alive, leading the hitman to attempt to track him down to finish him off.
(Although this is not nearly as good as most of the other suggestions.)

Wag the Dog would have been the Dr. Strangelove of its time if more people had noticed it.
Grosse Pointe Blank is also noteworthy. Same for 1989's War of the Roses.

One of the rare times a movie was TOO timely. It was about a President needing a huge distraction to overshadow a sex scandal that opened just as the Monica Lewinsky story went public. Thus was the fiction subjugated to the headlines.
