LIVE POLL: Starless Iconic Film Moments

Sometimes it so happens that a film's defining or most memorable moment doesn't feature the star or the central character.

The following list is a tribute to these iconic "starless*" movie moments that enhanced the visual experience of their films and sealed their cultural legacy. These moments must feature at least one character and crowd scenes are accepted if there is a clear focus on someone.

Which of these starless iconic film moments is your favorite?

https://www.imdb.com/list/ls568241772/

*The word "starless" here is not a reflection on the actors' talents but rather their limited screen-time in the context of the film or the fact that their names didn't reach the superstardom level, as we know it.

@Pencho15

Thanks Pencho, I actually thought of the Shining but I recalled Danny being in the shot as well... and he's not a minor character. But I totally forgot about the close-up.

I'll check your other suggestions, they sound fine but as I said in the intro, I'll avoid "impersonal" shots that feature anonymous people, crowds without a focus or close-up on objetcs (otherwise, there would be too many entries)

Added "2001" and "Shining".

There are many classic attack/destruction shots from disaster movies so I'd rather focus on images with people.

Is the "Jurassic Park" one that iconic? Let me know...

@mariojacobs Thanks mario, pretty sure it deserves to be on the list, can you just confirm to me that the author of that quote isn't the main villain of the film. Thank you.

Thanks, it's sure one of the highlights of the film... I wouldn't say it is iconic but I guess many fans of the franchise look at it this way so I will add it once I work on the list.

On second toughts, the moon is Georges Méliès, while the moon is not the main character, Méliès could be considered the star so this may not apply, I'll leave it for consideration anyhow.

@Pencho15

That was a good call (quite ironic to have a space shot as a starless moment) and I'm inclined to include it, after all, I would include a director's cameo if it made for a visual impact (the word "star" was meant for the actors) and also, we're not supposed to  know it's Melies himself,  and whether it was him or not had no bearing whatsoever on that shot's iconic status.

A great idea for a poll, a pretty solid list. I am sure there are plenty of more, but none are coming to mind right now.

Thanks urbane, this idea has been dormant in my mind for several years and I'm glad I could finally materialize it. I find surprising not to have many more options but I'll try to get it to 20 at least (round numbers always) I think we should explore foreign movies, no way they don't have a fair share of iconic moments without the film star.

That movie is hilarious, yet there has for a long time been some questions as to how the some of the actors have allowed their ways, customs and standard of living to be represented.

"Pulp Fiction" is a complex film because it's typically one without a small part and where every scene is almost a classic, I had actually thought about including or not the "Gold Watch"

As one of those semiannual newstories, NYC media often write about the status of influencers in NYC and they often use a variant photo of some Gen Zers or Millenials taking selfing **literally on this block**

Wonder if they know the film reference/significance of said block?

I'm choosing between The Shining Twins and Raising Arizona. I guess I'll vote for The Shining. Apparently the actors are still alive and they've been featured several months ago in the typical Where are they now? style feature.

Almost word for word what the guy who smashed the volleyball on my face in high school said to me... till now, I'm still wondering whether the glasses saved my eyes or made things worse.
