This would be the candidate I'd rather vote for: Merlin

Maybe Balthazar would be good for the list?

Just Movies or TV-shows, too?

If TV-Shows are an option, I got two other candidates.

Catweazle

Pan Tau

Thank you for Merlin, I just added the old sorcerer from Fantasia, too.

By the way, Interesting series I never heard of.

Catweazle is from UK, 1970.

Pan Tau is from Czechia, 1970.

Pan Tau is an old man who casts spells with his bowler hat to help children cope with their situations. Mostly all people of my generation that were raised in west Germany know this guy. I don't know about people of the same generation which were raised in eastern Germany, but there are good chances, because this TV-series is from eastern Europe.

But I have to admit that Pan Tau casts his spells silently. He is a mute and doesn't talk over the whole series. So I don't know if he properly fits. Does the casting spell have to be verbalized? If yes, Pan Tau should be out. He was just one of the old sorcerers I remembered.

I'll keep him. There are still free slots and if the idea goes live this could make him known to a new public.

I haven't seen Fantastic Beasts, so I was surprised to find Ezra Miller on the list, how old is he supposed to be?

Indeed, he is young and lives with his mother. I'll remove him. I liked the gesture in the picture...

#12 and #18 look a whole lot younger than everyone else and the actors were  in their early or mid 40s at the time. I don't know those movies, though, so do they not age normally or something? I know that, in some King Arthur books, Merlin ages backwards so is that, or something similar, the case with this Merlin and this Balthazar? I don't think I've read or seen anything Arthurian since I read 'The Once and Future Kind' the summer before 9th grade. : )

Thank you for your input. 👍I haven't watched these movies either. According to my calculations, one actor was 45 years old and Nicholas Cage 46. Indeed they are not old men, but they are not young either...👨‍🦳🧓 Should I keep them?

Balthazar is over 1000 years old, and I would think Merlin is a lot older than he looks. So I guess it depends on if you want to go by their appearance, or their actual age.
