Live Poll: Most Watchlisted Summer 2023 Movies

I've only two movies on this list that are also on my Watchlist.

Asteroid City (2023) and Elemental (2023). Then again, once I have a preordered ticket, I'm likely going to remove a given film from the list. Hence why GotG 3 isn't checked on my watchlist.

Guardians of the Galaxy I guess.

I am only interested in Oppenheimer and Asteroid City. And not so much in Asteroid City, I have grown tired of Wes Anderson's style. I also do not see the point in Oppenheimer (2023) when you have this video.

I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.

I do not think anybody will ever be able to understand the guilt that Oppenheimer must have felt at this point. It is not only the guilt of being responsible for 226 000 deaths. It is seems to be the guilt of a man who realizes his invention could put an end to all human life on earth. It hits hard when he says that "he is becoming death", but I always cry when he ends with "the destroyer of worlds".

Up until then, it was impossible to think that the decision of a single person or (a small group) could put an end to all existing life, and kill the miracle that life on earth is. The guilt felt at that moment by Oppenheimer is not a universal emotion, it is some abstract emotion that only a few people must have felt. If god exists (I do not believe he exist) and has emotions then Oppenheimer (and his team) is probably the closest human beings ever came to felt like gods.

A film will could never capture this scene. Even Robert Bresson could not film it.

Strange how The Flash was the most watchlisted, but is only seventh in the poll results so far.
