Is there a reason you chose not to ask about favorite character or performance?

@Jessica

Colin-Farrell-part comes at the end of this posting.

In deed, Jessica, in deed. I really appreciate the sophisticated character portrayals of Cillian Murphy. People do like him, yes. But I wanted to really honor him with that poll. With 50 years of age and a few decades of movie business, he has proven to be an elite player. It doesn't matter if he played in 'Tron: Legacy' or 'Oppenheimer'. He always gave his best. He is a premium player in cinema. And of course for clicks.

All in all I like it better when we not always do the same phrasing on each poll. I think it often grows a little mindless. At the end we only need a box of phrases and put them together like the wooden shapes for the shape sorter box in a kindergarten.

I actually work on my polls quite a lot with AI these days — partly because it opens up possibilities that, in my humble opinion, are absolutely worth using, and partly because I learn a great deal from it myself, especially about the English language. AI often comes up with phrasing I would never have thought of on my own. At first, that kind of thing surprises you, and then you start learning from it.

Even though I often use AI for polls like these, I never take the easy route. I always work toward a specific goal and deliberately search for phrases based on the exact purpose and feeling I want to express. That also means working with AI on a poll is never really effortless, because I always want to achieve something precise — to create a certain verbal atmosphere that is not only functional, but also inviting.

Sometimes working on a poll with AI even takes longer, because I want to refine it until everything fits perfectly. You also have to make it clear to the AI that it should provide only indisputably correct and verifiably true facts — nothing else. This text was written by me in German and translated with AI so that I could express the meaning as accurately as possible. I wrote the first two paragraphs myself with the help of a dictionary. Compare them if you like. You’ll notice that AI can genuinely do this better. But my own English has also improved a lot overall because of it.

I want the polls to be diverse. It makes them look more interesting, isn't it?

In Colin Farrell’s case, I especially wanted to highlight the outstanding actors he has worked with. Because that is one of Farrell’s greatest strengths: he always performs best as part of an ensemble. That’s where he truly comes alive. He is not a lone-player type of actor at all — he builds his characters in strong interaction with the performances of the other characters around him. With him, that dynamic is especially intense and noticeable. That is why I chose that particular approach.

In fact, with every single actor, I first spend time thinking about what the core of their work actually is before I create prompts or sketch out poll structures that I then gradually flesh out and develop further.

@Jessica

I now had the idea to edit the question a little to make it more clear:

Which of Colin Farrell's collaborating casts do you think had the best chemistry?
Better?

I rewrote it more precisely again:

In which ensemble did Colin Farrell shine the brightest through his interaction with the cast?

I see, it's fine then. I agree that last question is better.

I've cut out Ondine and put in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey instead, for having also a newer movie on the list.
