I find it strange that you, a huge LOTR fan, dislike The Rings of Power.  I myself became so bored by the crazy, convoluted plot that I gave up about twenty minutes into the second episode and haven't given it another try.

It does indeed seem strange! But there's a catch. The Rings of Power adapted J.R.R. Tolkien's book, The Silmarillion, where the entire history of Middle-earth is told, The First, Second and Third Ages until the events of LotR and The Hobbit. But The Rings of Power producers and Amazon didn't get the rights to the entire Second Age, which it adapts, but only the part that is told in The Lord of the Rings movies (which is still a lot). And, they didn't follow that part of the book at all, and needed to invent new events, new characters and alter something else. The show is approximately 20% accurate to Second age events from The Silmarillion. That's why I hate it. Those events that they describe are all tucked into a few years, whereas, in the book, those events are separated by thousands of years!!! The plot and the new events they invented is utterly terrible.

For example, in the first episode, if you remember, Gil Galad lets Galadriel and her companions to go to Valinor because of their hunt for Sauron (none of this actually happens in the book). Firstly, Gil Galad has absolutely no authority over Valinor and can't send someone there just like that. The hunt for Sauron doesn't happen either. And then, when they get to Valinor through a portal (which does not exist in the book either, the Earth is still flat in the Second age), and in the last possible millisecond she jumps out of the boat with her brother's (his name is Finrod) dagger. Finrod does exist and he is a very important character in the First Age, but ultimately dies from a wolf sent by Sauron (completely different than in the series). He also doesn't have a dagger in the book. And she goes on an olimpic swim through an ocean (which is as big as the Atlantic) and suddenly bumps on a piece of floating garbage (a wooden raft). Literally NONE of this happened in the book.

The Rings of Power adapted J.R.R. Tolkien's book, The Silmarillion

I think you mean it's based on the appendices in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. :)

I listed the four television shows that I hate most and that post was marked as private.  Maybe it is because I insulted the w-o-k-e a-g-e-n-d-a of one of those shows!  This site does tend to support that philosophy of justification of evil.

Interesting indeed, I see it in the notifications but not on the thread... I really don't know why do they mark some posts private when they're not a spam (which that feature is supposed to be, a spam filter, but none of the spam comments on posts are privated)... But luckily, I can see it on my Email, so count your shows as added!

@Vandurath   Thank you.  If I review a television show or movie and comment negatively due to those two reasons I gave, the review is always rejected.  I am so glad that this website is using film and television as a method of promoting their own moral agenda!!!!!  (the last sentence is pure sarcasm, by the way)

Wow!  They just did it again!  You can't say anything against p-o-l-i-t-i-c-a-l- -c-o-r-r-e-c-t-n-e-s-s-  on here without the site deleting the post or marking it private.

@Breumaster   Interesting.  For the first few years of the series, The Waltons was my favorite show on television.  I grew up watching these children grow up.  After the original John Boy left and the grandfather died and the grandmother had a stroke, the show got boring and repetitive and I quit watching.  I will catch an old rerun occasionally and enjoy the nostalgia of the show.

@Vandurath you wrote "list" instead of "pick" in Breumaster's options.

Corrected that, I think I copied it from another list and it stayed "list" instead of "pick".

I agree on Kardashins and Apprentice, even though I never saw only one of them. For me it would be a only waste of time. The least I'd like to see Trump, even it's only in flashbacks. And the Kardshian-fever never got me. I don't like people that look like plastic to me.

@jaf_ismael   I would have had Oprah and the Kartrashians in my bottom ten if we had been asked for that many.  Thank you for adding this garbage television to the list.

@Breumaster I was forced to watch them with my sisters back in the satellite TV days. since we only had one television in the house.

I'll nominate two series that I started but dropped before finishing a single season (and I do try to watch the whole season even if I'm not liking it).

True Blood (Watched four episodes)

Da Vinci's Demons (Only watched one episode)

I could nominate three really low quality Mexican TV series that won't get any votes, but my third pick will be a Latin American HBO production, I did watch the whole first season but it became so absurd it needed a new level of suspension of disbelief I couldn't reach, and the crimes just seemed to be so gratitously gore that it seemed their only point was to make a scandal.
