Poll Suggestion: I Listen to "The Undead"

Intro:

Last year's Halloween, I asked you about music from dead composers that fit to Halloween. This year, it's the turn of still living composers to evoke the atmosphere of Halloween. They are not dead, so I call them "undead" for Halloween. Please also vote in Part I: I Listen to Dead People

Which of these undead's melodies evokes Halloween the best? Click here for slideshow.

Please discuss here.

Suggestion:

Images from scenes in which living composer composed the score. Please with image and name of the composer.

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls4151169624/

When I saw that Bobby "Boris" Pickett's hit song "The Monster Mash" was not included in your first list, I thought that he must still be alive.  Alas, he passed in 2007.  So I guess that we won't be doing "the mash!  We did the monster mash.  The Monster Mash!  It was a graveyard smash!" in your next poll.

Look up the song on Youtube if you are unfamiliar (or if it never traveled across the Atlantic).

Yeah! Funny video.

That's what the old bones are for. You always get some extra fun. If there were only young people, world wouldn't be a good place. It also wouldn't be a good place when there only were old people. A good social mix makes it. The song reminds me on Tennesee Ernie Ford, Sixteen tons:

The rhythm is a little like of the The Munsters soundtrack. The 'The Munsters'-theme is same style like 'The Monster Mash', somehow. ;)

P.S.: My wife also thinks it's funny. :D She loved the little bat. ;)

I don't think "enchant" is the right word. Perhaps "evoke":

evoke the atmosphere of Halloween

evokes Halloween the best?

I was a little confused by the mention of Nick Cave and the X-Files theme. The theme was composed by Mark Snow, it appears Cave recorded a version of it.

Good points. I've edited it. I will delete "The X-Files", because Mark Snow passed in July, 2025.

Just wanted to say it. Dan, I have bad news: Bach has passed. You may have known him, but ...

... now he chants with the angels. They like his music.

I really need to check the obituaries more frequently than I do. When you become as ancient as I am, friends and associates, such as Johann, pass by unexpectantly. 😏😉😊
