@Pencho15 I agree Mighty Joe Young is not part of the official " King Kong" media franchise. It does not share any connection to the franchise, other than being a knock-off. There are 10 live-action films and 3 animated films that have been licensed by the King Kong copyright holder and are part of the "official" media franchise.
FYC, The 1967 film, King Kong Escapes' should be added to the list and either specify the list is limited to live-action King Kong films only in the media franchise or add the 3 animated King Kong films to ensure it's completeness.

King Kong 2005 was good though. It was one of favorite, if you want to have a balance between old and new then it's a good choice.
