Live Poll: The Walking Dead TV/Web Franchise

The story takes place after a worldwide zombie apocalypse and centers on a group of survivors that attempt to sustain and protect themselves not only against attacks by zombies but by other groups of survivors willing to use any means necessary to stay alive.

So far, this franchise includes 6 TV series and 5 Web series.

Which The Walking Dead (series) is the best?

I've watched all of these, experiencing a very minuscule amount of dissatisfaction with each one, and I'm honestly not sure. I'm thinking that maybe Fear the Walking Dead has been the best among them, thanks largely to the decent production value, including changes of settings. The thing that is great about Tales of the Walking Dead is that it is structured in such a way as for the storytellers thereof to avoid falling into plot holes or lesser nonsense, so maybe that one may ultimately turn out to be the best. Come to think of it, I've probably experienced the least dissatisfaction with Tales.

Thank you for this small but great review of these series.

I didn't have the time or opportunity to watch these TV series but based on your recommendation I will definitely take the time to watch Tales of the Walking Dead.

While The World Beyond isn't inherently terrible, it may feel like the weakest among the collection to folks who have grown accustomed to the to other series preceding it, because the kids (teenagers and young grownups) in that one just don't seem as strong, competent and independent as Carl Grimes, Enid, Benjamin, Henry (younger brother of Benjamin), Nick Clark and Alicia Clark, but of course, their apocalyptic backgrounds differ, i.e. the characters in The World Beyond grew up more sheltered (and experienced less walker-slaying training) throughout the years of apocalypse, apart from the initial months. In a way, this is similar to the oddly stark contrast between Judith Grimes and her younger brother, or her and Aaron's adopted daughter, whereby Hershel Green's grandson is seemingly in between these contrasting power levels. Some of the behavior of some of the children does beg the question of how they would've turned out had there been no societal collapse or no outbreak of the walker phenomena altogether. Maybe a small portion of them a slight inclination toward psychopathy.

Hi,

If you're using the "franchise" in the title, can you please add the video games too?

Or perhaps, even better, you can create a separate poll for video games based on the Walking Dead comics.

Alternately, the word "franchise" could be replaced with the term "TV/Web franchise", so as to narrow down the criteria.

One title hasn't been released yet, so you should either remove it or the poll will have to wait till next year.

Please change "Poll Suggestion" to "Live Poll" in the discussion thread title and change the settings so that it appears under "Praise" now, rather than "Idea."
