Live Poll: Face-Off: The Scottish Play

Two great films with two vastly different aproaches and visual styles.
Which of these two recent adaptations of Shakespeare's Macbeth do you prefer?

I have seen neither. Both interest me, but I figured it would better to read the actual Shakespeare plays before watching their adaptations. The problem is, Shakespeare's English is too complicated for me, I haven't decided if I will read them in French.

@cinephile I've been having the same issue. l used to want to read all the Shakespeare plays before l watch any films but l really tend to struggle to follow them. Not my cup of tea l guess. I've started watching versions of the films that tend to stay close to the source instead.

It looks like The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021) is my first ever watch of the Shakespeare play. That gets my enthusiastic default vote. Full disclosure, get a good night's sleep before viewing. I almost fell asleep during this screening. No fault of the film itself. Or maybe....

FYI, you typoed Duscuss here. If you could fix that mistake, si vous plait.

@Tsarstepan Fixed it, thanks!

If you don't count The Lion King and 10 Things l hate about you, I think 2015's Macbeth was the first proper Shakespearian play l saw as a movie. I'm not voting till l see this new one but l did expect the pacing to be a little slow

I saw the 2015 Macbeth, it was visually stunning, but hard to follow with the English they use.

I have yet to see the new one.
