Poll Suggestion: 13 Shades of Poll

Polls can stimulate discussion and thought among voters and writers about ideas and themes presented in movies.

Very good point. But as you see below - I just told Vandurath - it looks very self centric to provide a meta-theme about ourself to users that are usually not on the poll-board. In that case under the aspect of mile-stones. I would rather take other milestones as a subject, e.g. the rollout of a new format, like e.g. Tone, Color, 3D, or the impact of a new trend, which often is counted to a special decade, when it rised.

The milestone shouldn't only be named, but also be part of the poll, to make that more visible.

Hi Vandurath. I've put your first suggestion on the list. For the second: I understand that you are a big fan of LOTR and want to place as much images in that idea as you can. Normaly I'd turn a blind eye, but installed a new explaining rule under P.P.S.: 

The poll idea is about the diversity of the poll board and our ideas. To prevent make it a commercial for favorite franchises, no matter which, I limit the images to 1 character and/or scene per franchise. Most qualities can also be shown with different franchises or singe movie characters/scenes.

Ok, no problem. You can replace the polls for special occasions with A Poll Story.

That Sure is better, but when I read special occassion and see the poll given, I would, if I was a user that has nothing to do with the poll board think "Wow, that's pretty egocentric of the poll board". When I read "special occasion I would rather think of a premier or an Academy event.

How would you call it? It seems to be a matter of vocabulary . I took the next word that seemed the most normal to me. "Which kind of poll" ist not really expressing what I meant.

I Germany I had said "Welche Eigenschaft der Umfragen, welche Art magst Du am liebsten?"

I've changed it to "characteristics". Close Words that were suggested by the dictionary are:

Dimension, Aspect, Criterion, Perspective, attributes

At first I wasn't amused about that, but ... I see what you mean. That means number 13 is out, and I’d have to completely rework the whole poll, making it a new idea. The original idea is dead. I’ll expand it and see where it leads.

P.S.: If it is realeased next year , that is no pitty for me. I guess I have more than 300 Ideas pending. Half of them should be at least a little bit interesting to release. An I'm an endless well of ideas ... so far. ;)

You don't have to rework the entire poll - as Van said, you can just make it "14 shades" or if there are more, come up with another title - maybe "Different Shades of Poll", then you can add as many as you like.

I appreciate the idea behind it, I just don't think it needs to be limited to 13. 

By the way when I suggested "poll series" I meant it could be one option.

Made edits. Now we can stuff it, if we want so. Changing the numbers is easy. I like to put the "... shades of  poll"-theme.
