On Topic: How do we increase user engagement here at sprinkler.com?
Depending on who you ask? This is or isn't a problem. I can go either way depending on my mood.
On the one hand, bringing more people to this side of the IMDb Poll could bring in a more diverse, varied potential poll makers.
Am I just spitting into the proverbial wind? Since most polls don't get nonpoll-making voters come by and "discuss" their answers.
Is it just the wording of the usual "discuss your answer here"? I suspect that no one wants to go through the process of making a Sprinklr account. Having two separate accounts for (a lay person's view) effectively one website is a nuisance/pain in the tuchas.
What do you think? Could we get more poll voter interaction beyond what spammers do? Is this a nonissue?

I certainly would like to know what we could do to get more engagement on the Sprinklr IMDb message board.
Pro:
Additional engagement would provide a better indication of what polls people voting in polls would like to go live.
Cons:
It may be difficult to keep up with a major increase in the number of posts.
I've considered creating a poll to determine why we do not get a lot of responses on this IMDb Poll message board. However, I haven't been able to come up with a workable concept for such a poll.
It may well be that people simply do not wish to create an additional account to discuss a poll. Likewise, unless a person is signed into an IMDb account a vote in a poll does not count.

Well, my story is that I didn't even want to come to IMDb's Get Satisfaction board from which IMDb's Sprinklr board, the current board, was migrated, but I wound up having some questions about how to deal with certain kinds of submissions, and as it has wound up, I've rarely taken a vacation from the forum. I'm pretty much the only one around here who discusses IMDb polls but has never created an IMDb list, but that has a lot to do with how my main focus on IMDb isn't really related to adding to IMDb's great body of lists and reviews, since I'm more concerned with correcting errors and trying to make sure that cast listings and soundtrack listings, among other data types are complete. I did have a penchant for contributing to title FAQs and character biographies, before the migration from the platform before previous, whereby "cconst" character pages were lost. I figure that a lot of people are still recovering from these bummer moments.

I'm not sure there was much more discussion from voters when we were in the message boards – other than those who were regulars of the poll board.
I guess there are fewer regulars than before. On the other hand there has been a decent flow of new poll authors.
I remember mentioning to IMDb's pollmaster HB early on that it didn't seem like the discussion links were used much. I thought the discussion links were a relatively complicated requirement for poll authors if the advantages were not significant.
I don't know if it would help with an additional banner or link to the community on the poll pages, where the links to Twitter and the FAQ are now. "Join the discussion about current polls and poll suggestions," that sort of thing.

I am surprised whenever someone actually discusses a poll, there was an user who did just a few days ago, but it is indeed a rare occurrence.

There is no knob to turn for getting more interest.
To receive more interest, we must be more interesting.
The is no interest in being on page 3.
When the Poll Board was on page 1, more polls gathered a few thousand votes.
Now we can be glad to collect a few hundred. That's not because of lesser users on IMDb.
We are a niche. One saying is, that the most beauty flowers grow hidden.
