While we all know that war is really not funny, it hasn’t prevented filmmakers and writers from creating comedies or comedic drama set in a war or in the military. In fact some these films dramatize certain aspects of war generally not shown in war films. And also, in fact, if used right, the comedy actually intensifies the serious dramatic parts of the war film. Which one of these war comedies is your favorite? No TV shows! Movies only.

and i agree with gitte that mash was the first one that came to my mind as well but...it was really the tv show that made it a comedy...the movie had funny moments but was a very serious film...so....
as much as i love the robert altman movie mash...for comedy my vote goes to buck privates...

There are so many great comedy in your poll suggestion that it is hard to choose.
