Great suggestion, does 75% co-written count
Amelia:directed by Mira Nair starring Hilary Swank

I guess it would count, but it's not included in IMDb's list yet. If you wish, you could try adding the triple-f-rated keyword to that film.

There are tons. Maybe you could set a ratings minimum?

Also, do films that are adapted from a story written by a man allowed?

FYC:
Bright Star
Bend It Like Beckham
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night
Away From Her
My Life Without Me
High Art
Girlfight
Julie & Julia
Lost in Translation
Little Women (1994)
Vanity Fair (2004)
The Iron Lady
Sunshine Cleaning

My list is based on IMDb's listings. I don't claim it to be complete.

I included those with most IMDb votes; the lowest is Certain Women with just over 4,000 so far.

I thought the same that Mira Nair's Vanity Fair would be on list, but is was written by a man and adapted by a three more. (screenplay)Matthew Faulk  & Mark Skeet and Julian Fellowes  (novel by) William Thackeray

"My list is based on IMDb's listings. I don't claim it to be complete." - what list are you talking about? I mean, how did you decide what should be on the list and what shouldn't? Just curious...
------------------------------
Edit: You're going by the number of votes? Will you accept suggestions if they have more votes that the ones you already have with the lower numbers?

IMDb's keyword listing is linked in my description:
http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?ke...

I got the definition here:
https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/g...

I don't think I'll take suggestions that are not in IMDb's list.

Peter,

I'm happy to see that you created this poll suggestion. There were a few news articles on the Triple F designation:
  1. Film is directed by a woman
  2. Film is written by a woman
  3. Film features significant women on screen in their own right.
I consider this a more restrictive variant of the Bechdel test by adding the first two criteria.
http://bechdeltest.com/
  1. It has to have at least two [named] women in it
  2. Who talk to each other
  3. About something besides a man
IMDb Adopts F-Rating Of Women's Contributions To Movies

The IMDB's new "F-rating" highlights films by and about women. Here are 5 streamable must-sees.
From Daisies to Bridget Jones, these films have made inroads for women on both sides of the camera.

I had no idea Triple-F was an existing thing. I just though it was something you came up with. Hence, the confusion.

The Piano...

... but to be honest, I don't like this rating system, it  encourages a sort of quota-based judgment that doesn't have much relevance when it comes to the quality of a film. Personally, I don't mind if there is 1 movie out of 1000 that deals or involves minorities if this movie is a masterpiece, it's still better than 20 movies that are only promoted because they happen to be made by a director of a specific gender or features actors of a specific ethnicity.

I watched rceently The Color Purple, it's one of my favorite movies ever and I don't think people praised the film because it had African-American cast or women in the main roles, it was acclaimed it because it was a damn good movie.

There was also a big backlash at the time because it was directed by a white (Jewish) man...

ElM,

I do not consider Triple F a rating, but merely a qualifier or description of a film, much like the distinction between black and white, and color. A Triple F may be very good, but it may also be horrid. Just because a film is directed and written by a woman does not guarantee quality.

I know, I used the term 'rating' in a very broad way, in this context where claims for gender-equality are heard everywhere, I don't think it's a coincidence that such concepts like Triple F are made up, it's like a Triple F means that the film accomplishes something great in the name of equality, any mediocre teen movie can have this 'aura' while many empowering movies that happen to be directed or written by men will be ignored.

'Remember the clapping emoticon that was on the old poll board? Now I have yet another reason to miss the poll board: this poll so deserves applause, even if the only way to get that to you is via emoji, lol. Anyway, bravo for doing this poll. It's a good one. I'd like to give my vote to a few films on the list (The Piano, The Dressmaker, etc.) so I'll decide based on which film is behind in votes.
