Over the years several actors successfully portrayed musicians that really lived by playing thems in biographical movies. Some were so good that they received an Oscar for their role.

Only suggestions about real existing or dead musicians, biographys and the role must be awarded by the Academy (Oscars). No fictional musicians, but portrayals of a real musician under different name ok. (inspired by the biography of ...) If it turns out that there are too less suggestions, I will make a very fine face-off of it.
