Nikolay,

Thank you for creating a thoughtful and informative poll honoring the memory of Rutger Hauer.

Rutger Hauer had an amazing career. I will have to think about which of his roles I find most amazing.

You're welcome, the pleasure is all mine, even if it's a sad one. I must admit that his death hit me hard, perhaps hardest since 2016's passing of David Bowie. Since I love him in pretty much everything it was crucial for me to concentrate on different sides of his talent rather then titles: after all how you peek 35 out of a career that has more then 170 roles and he never ever slacked on a single one of them?.. FYC's are welcome, though. I'm pretty sure I still forgot to mention something about him, a particular role or a great fact...

In the first option, "a but part" I think you mean "a bit part"?

The Blade Runner facts will get my vote.

Please also correct:

#4: ...neo-noir by Ridley Scott.
#11: ...he has less than five minutes.
#15: he almost appeared

One of the most tragic deaths of this year, I love this poll and pay tribute respectfully to the great Hauer. My choice would be Blade Runner, I love this movie, I love his character, every word he says is pure beauty and philosophy masterfully interpreting a man both enigmatic and moving and his final monologue has no comparison in the cinema.

R.I.P. Rutger Hauer - you will be greatly missed. My longtime favorite is Ladyhawke.

I was too young to remember Rutger Hauer from the early tv-series, but one of his first feature movies I saw on tv (in those days that was still possible) was Paul Verhoeven's Turks fruit (1973), one of his biggest masterpieces and a movie so intense (and provocative) you will not easily forget.

Rutger Hauer was an amazing talent that will be missed. My favourite role of his is Roy Batty in Blade Runner, he gave that film so much of a philosophical edge and that 'tears in rain' monlogue was improvised by him which is absolutely incredible. I see you've added some of his more obscure roles like Omega Doom and mentioned Split Second, Wedlock, Blood of the Heroes and Blast. Might I suggest one of his more forgotten about films, the action comedy Blind Fury. It's an interesting blend of eastern martial arts and a western action film injected with a great sense of humour. There's also a few other films of note that you could possibly mention including Nighthawks, Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Salute of the Jugger, A Breed Apart, etc.

I went out and added one of his commercials to IMDb, a part of surreal series for Guinness beer. Should I link it in the music videos/commercial fact?

Although, so far his cast credit is not approved, despite most of the title did.

This is a very nicely done memorial poll for a very good, humanistic actor. My vote will go to 'Escape from Sobibor.' I love his performances in that film and in 'Blade Runner' the most but 'Blade Runner' will get more votes so I'll vote for the lesser known and amazing 'Escape.'

May I suggest a few edits to the intro? (They're below in bold.)

Corrected, but about the titles... It was my original point to make options which are not titles, but more of representation. Otherwise we'll need to deleted The Hitcher remake altogether, despite I really want to keep the part about roles he barely missed, as well... I tried to make that point a bit different then both my original formulation which I must admit is off but also it's a bit different then what you've suggested... Can you please see the corrected variant and say whether it's any good?

DIGGER it's not a list of films, though. It's mainly a poll about different sides of Hauer's talent and life represented by certain titles he was involved in.

I liked him in "Surviving the Game", he really creeped me out... I took it as your typical 90s hammy villain but when he "SPOILERS" executed one of his own friends halfway through the film, it chilled my blood. The film itself is quite underrated.
