@Jessica,

70 doesn't seem so old anymore.

 My favorites from the list:

  1. John Houseman as Charles W. Kingsfield Jr. in The Paper Chase (1973)
  2. Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
  3. Jessica Tandy as Daisy Werthan in Driving Miss Daisy (1989)
  4. Lauren Bacall as Hannah Morgan in The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996)
  5. Stellan Skarsgård as Gustav Borg in Sentimental Value (2025)
  6. Gloria Stuart as Old Rose in Titanic (1997)
  7. Margaret Rutherford as The Duchess of Brighton in The V.I.P.s (1963)

John Houseman appeared for a book signing at the University of Minnesota Bookstore (Minneapolis Campus) on October 16, 1979.

The book he was promoting at the time was his second volume of memoirs titled:

Front and Center

Published by Simon & Schuster in 1979, the book covers Houseman's life and career from 1942 to 1955, including his work as a producer and director in Hollywood and on Broadway, as well as the founding of the Mercury Theatre with Orson Welles.

I am fortunate enough to have a signed copy of his book. Mr. Houseman was gracious and charming in person.
