Live Poll: Movies With Most Oscars Nominations but With No Best Pictures

Usually the film with the most nominations get the Oscar for Best Picture, but there are times when things don't work this way. Which of these movies that got more Oscar nominations than their competitors and didn't win the Best Picture award should have won?https://www.imdb.com/list/ls047173592/https://www.imdb.com/poll/ZytgD9xPaug/

Usually the film with the most nominations get the Oscar for Best Picture, but there are times when things don't work this way. I'm not sure it's that usual, there were many 'upsetting' or odd-beating Best Picture winners over the years, sometimes, it's not even the movie that won the most Oscars that end up with the Best Picture:https://www.imdb.com/list/ls059065062/

I am sorry my friend, but your corrections are not applicable. 2018 winner is Shape of Water with 13 nominations. Spotlight is a movie of 2015. Avatar has 9 nominations just like Hurt Locker. Chicago has 13 nominations and the Pianist only seven. Shakespear in Love has 13 nominations and Saving Private Ryan has only 11. The films you suggest dosen't belong in the list.

So I did some research. Lincoln had more nominations than Life of Pi Reds had more than Raiders of the Lost Ark Julia AND The Turning Point had more nominations than Star Wars Giant had more nominations than The King and I A Streetcar Named Desire had more nominations than A Place in the Sun (Some people may think that Raiders or Star Wars should have won, but if you want to list the films with the most nominations, they aren't the ones.) Network and Rocky had the same number of nominations Also, other titles that appear to be eligible: The Revenant American Hustle Bugsy The Elephant Man Raging Bull Anne of the Thousand Days Bonnie and Clyde Guess Who's Coming to Dinner Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Mary Poppins Sayonara A Streetcar Named Desire A Place in the Sun Johnny Belinda The Bells of St. Mary's Sergeant York One Night of Love Arrowsmith The Champ The Love Parade Unfortunately that makes more than 35 entries, so you can choose how many you want to include.

Paok,There are clearly more films with large number of Oscar nominations than you could include in your poll suggestion. I recommend that you set a minimum number of Academy Award (Oscar) nominations, a minimum number of votes or a minimum rating.Likewise, Roma (2018) and  The Favourite (2018) both received 10 Oscar nominations. Only one of these films can win the best picture Oscar; it's possible that neither will.

Paok,Ten Oscar nominations is probably a good minimum, since there are currently 24 that meet that threshold. Nine Oscar nominations may include more than 35 choices.
