So what I've done is I've condensed it to sequels from the 1980s- then this will be followed by 1990s and 2000s.

I've gone by the rule that a movie must have less than a 7.5. So with Rocky III for instance, even though most people don't argue it's terrible, it's still not held in as high regard as Rocky 1 or even Rocky 2.

For me it's a perfect 7, not bad for me it was fun, but the first one is just great.

Usually the first ones are always too good, which causes a lot of expectation around the sequels.
Only few sequels had performed well

That's true, hence why some may consider them underrated. There are those sequels that many consider to surpass the original e.g. The Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, Terminator 2 and The Dark Knight. However, they are rare to come by.

And there are movies that I think maintained the same quality as the first like The Godfather, The Before Trilogy...

The film that most disappointed me in the sequel was "Back to the Future II", I really liked the first one but the second, although most people liked it, I did not have the same opinion, maybe I need to watch again.

The Godfather Part II is another great sequel- so is the Back to the Future Trilogy (I like all three). I haven't seen Quantum of Solace in a while but I remember not being impressed- Skyfall though was fantastic.
