Yes, but in order to be listed they must have both a movie biopic about them and must be some type of performance artist.

A lot of these suggestions have yet to have a movie biopic made about them,

P.S. I removed Singers and Musicians from the scope and have given them their own poll suggestion, (given the volume of actress and musician biopics) Inspirational Women's History Singer and Musician Biopics,

P.S.S. I left some widely seen and more negative role model biopics like
Mommie Dearest (1981) on the the list. I took a contrarian view that it might inspire some to be a better mother or better father or not want to be that type of parent.

I personally find this list to be a slightly odd mix of people. I would perhaps focus on stage performers and actors, and move Marina Abramovich to your other artist list.

Performance Art is intended to be a catch all category, the type of acts is constant while the technology to showcase them has evolved over the past century.

Calling most of these people "performance artists" is a stretch.

I using the classification as in the broadly defined performance arts vs. visual arts meaning, not the obsurce, electric subset type that you are conjuring.

FYC
(1) Radioactive (2019), about Marie Curie

(2) Girl, Interrupted (1999), about BP/BPD sufferer Susanna Kaysen (Kaysen is not much of a celebrity, but her story does resonate with a lot of us who have mood disorders, Will leave the film's inclusion to your discretion.)

@urbanemovies ,

The Poll Admin Tool is complaining that the description is too long. I suspect that the tool counts the formatting text and links, not just the rendered characters.

Unfortunately, the Poll Admin Tool does not indicate by how much the description exceeds the limit or what the limit is. For this poll to go live, we will have to iteratively remove links until description fits within the maximum number of characters.

@dan_dassow Try it now, it should work. I removed all the introduction hyperlinks.

It is basically an identical introduction to the IWD Visual Artist poll that was featured two days ago. It must have been at the tipping point then; since I did add the Visual Artist hyperlink to this one in the companion poll section. That character addition must have put this poll suggestion over the top, chatacterwise.

@urbanemovies ,

Even after more than 8 years, I still occasionally find unexpected quirks with the Poll Admin Tool.

@dan_dassow

Thanks, It is a constant battle for me not to fully explain the premises, as a result the introductions tend to be lengthy. But, you were right the text was shocking long between the IWD hyperlinks and the companion poll hyperlinks from previous years' IWD polls.

@urbanemovies ,

I personally did not believe that your previous version of the introduction is too long, although it probably was at the bleeding edge of being between being just right and too long.

@dan_dassow I like the restriction, it forces brevity. FYI, the complete text was double to triple the visible length when the hyperlink code was uncompressed and exposed.

@mariojacobs

Thanks, those are good suggestions.

I was forced to split off singers and musicians into their own poll, https://www.imdb.com/poll/eSNflAFW1xA/
