Oddly enough, my top 3 were all released between mid '08 and mid '10 and my 4th & 5th were released in 1999. A new contender for inclusion was released in 2019.

This is an interesting poll suggestion. I've been considering doing a similar poll suggestion for the last six years:
Highest-Rated Films by IMDb Voters 45+ Years

Unfortunately, I have not had the time to create that poll, but retain the rights to create that poll.

I am curious how you determined the choices in your poll. I suspect that you looked at the IMDb Top 250 and selected the films that have a rating of 8.5 or more.

Back in April 2013, I tabulated the ratings of films in the IMDb Top 250 by the Top 1000 Voters. Here are the results from then.

"Top 1000 voters" are most correlated with "Males Aged 45+" (r=86) and least correlated with Females Aged 18-29 (r=5), where r is the Pearson correlation.

Yes, I did find that when searching for an existing poll. It's impressive. I wish there was an option for "top-1000-voters" in the Advanced Search. I also came across many user-created lists but they were all outdated.

I was going to create my list based on your statistics, then I realized I should verify it since they're pretty old. And found these were outdated too.

Then, as you already guessed, I had to manually go to each top-rated title and find out their ratings by the top 1000 voters.

And sorry, I didn't know someone had a plan to make a poll like this.

I actually got the idea of making this poll from an old poll by DC, (Favorite Film Rated at Least 9 Stars on IMDb). And I'm planning to expand it to TV shows, games, etc.

Tbh, most of the old polls are inspiring me (and I hope a few other new poll authors too) into making such polls. Like my poster collection polls are inspired by a poll called "Profile Posters", I saw it under Hotly Contested Polls.

The poll you suggest is significantly different than the one I plan to suggest.

Yours is strictly related to the Top 1000 users; mine would be for the Voters aged 45 or older. I also plan to go beyond the IMDb Top 250. I will expand the initial list to the IMDb Top 1000 and films rated above 8.5 with more than 10,000 votes.

I suspect your poll and my poll will have similar choices. I hope they will not be identical.

Of course this assumes that I ever find the time to do this after I get the poll statistics back in operation.
