Richard Morton Sherman, a songwriter who specialized in musical films, died on May 25th 2024, at 95 years of age. Richard Sherman (June 12, 1928 – May 25, 2024), alongside with his brother Robert Bernard (1925-2012), received various accolades including two Academy Awards and three Grammy Awards for their music and lyrics. In addition, the brothers were nominated for seven other Academy Awards, six other Grammy Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, a BAFTA Award, and five Golden Globe Awards for their scores and songs. According to Disney and independently verified, "The Sherman Brothers were responsible for more motion picture musical song scores than any other songwriting team in film history."
