Live Poll: Favorite Mute Movie Character

One of the most common ways of communication is speech. When someone cannot speak, that becomes a hindrance to living a normal life. Most of the mute people use sign language to talk and convey meaning to others. A lot of times, facial expressions are a very important way to communicate as well.

Which of these mute characters do you like the most?

Note: Silent-era movie characters and animated characters are not included.

I'm probably gonna vote for Ada. However, I gave an honorable mention to Art the Clown.

BTW, you can find better pictures of art the clown on the page of Terrifier: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4281724/characters/nm7476686

Mr. Bean isn't really mute. He speaks a good deal, especially in the movies.

I take your word for the movies, removed him.

He speaks, but very little in the TV series. Also, whatever he speaks is gibberish at best.

In general, a lot of deaf people cannot learn to speak and grow to be mute. Later, if they actually learn to speak they cannot speak clearly.

Thanks for catching that.

Brijesh, you may wish to replace Bromden with Pencho's suggestion, while the option still has zero votes.

The new option must be in the same place in the list (#7).

Thanks BonafideBOSS. Chief speaks more than just a few words. It is better to leave him out.

This might seem pedantic but Silent Bob isn't mute. He can talk. He has talked on occasion. He just chooses not to,

Yes that is correct and so is Sarah Norman, Boo Radley and someone else I am missing, they choose not to speak. But they has the same effect, to an extent I think it is tougher not to speak when you can speak.

The thing is Silent Bob has too many appearances, sometimes he speaks more (J & SB Strikes Back), sometimes just a word or line (Clerks, Clerks 2, Dogma). I have chosen the title where he doesn't speak at all (J & SB Reboot).
