Animal characters are an important part of the World of Westeros. One key difference is that they are being portrayed by actual animal actors, rather than being digitally created though. Otherwise, the horses in "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" are not all that different than the direwolves in "Game of Thrones" or the dragons in the "House of the Dragon." Plus, direwolf and dragon characters do appear as answer options in my other GoT & HotD polls. The dual listing of adult and adolescent character actors at different ages by different actors in the Favorite "House of the Dragon" Season 1 Casting poll prevents that luxury, as well as, that actual animal actors were not cast as dragons in the prior poll.

I think the three animal characters fairly fall within the twenty-five most beloved and notable characters of the first season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and its source material, "The Hedge Knight" novella. The three horse characters also appear in the first four episodes, while Thunder and Chestnut go on to appear in the last two episodes of the six episode first season without Sweetfoot, while only three human actor characters (Dunk, Egg, & Laughing Storm) appear in all six episodes of the first season. I also think they are more worthy than the honorable mentions #36-#44 and fringe #25-#33 answer choices listed.

The nicknames are specific to the time period, "Aegon the Unlikely" is a nickname he acquired after the "The Tales of Dunk and Egg" timeline. I include backstory nicknames, as well as, nicknames used in the HBO series. In some cases, the characters are better known by their nickname. There is a separate poll suggestion dedicated just nicknames that features a more comprehensive list.

@Jessica​ I planned to watch it this past week, but spent my free time catching up on some movies I missed out on when they came out. Maybe, this week, as it is only six episodes and perfect for a one-sitting binge.

OK, I'm just surprised that you voted in the poll without having seen the show.

@Jessica​, I did pick up a feeling from my research for this and other poll suggestions, plus general knowledge from advance press about the series over the past few years. If I feel differently, after I watch the show, I will alter my vote.

As a rule with movies: I try to avoid trailers and too much advanced plot knowledge to be surprised when I do see the movie. But, at the same time I try to go in with an expectation on a 100-point scale of how I would score the movie unseen, based on a variety of factors: cast, crew, source material, etc.. Oddly, I mentally rescore the movie after, to see if it exceeded or underperformed my expectations. As well as, ask myself how they could have approached the material differently. It is just an odd game, I play for my own amusement. So, this is a bit like that.

Which of these select actors or actresses is your favorite casting for the "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" series in its first season?

Also, I purposefully used the term "casting" for a first season poll, instead of "character". As the term is ambiguous and applies both to performance expectations, as well as, performance results. "The House of the Dragon" was published in the first two weeks of the premiere, during the the time when viewers are still getting to know the characters. I feel viewers of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" at six episodes are maybe in similar boat, or may not have seen the show like me, so I thought the phrasing would be a good fit to apply to a wide-range of poll takers.
