I'm assuming you are limiting the choices to films boys and bears. Otherwise, Mark Wedloe (played by Clint Howard) and Gentle Ben (played by Bruno The Bear ) from Gentle Ben (1967–1969) would be eligible.

I just noticed that the film Gentle Giant (1967) was the basis for the "Gentle Ben" television series. Based on Walt Morey's novel "Gentle Ben."
