I do remember the Moretz-mania that followed the release of Kick-Ass and everyone was praising it as one of the greatest child-performances and a talent as promising as Natalie Portman in her time... but I feel like if we asked what's her best role as of today, the answer would still be Kick-Ass.
I only saw her in Brain on Fire and thought she was great but that's it, I feel like she's stuck to little indie productions and didn't have yet that role that would earn her an Oscar-nomination or a franchise where she would play a key part... many actresses of her generation who had a breakthrough far later than her did get an Oscar-nomination while everyone was 100% sure Moretz would get a juicy role before her 20s.
