Live Poll: Best Movie Villain of 2017

Who is the best villain from a movie released in 2017?

List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls025409701/#1
Poll: http://www.imdb.com/poll/cn3p3qajxqU/

[A request to our dear poll admins: Please don't select this poll to publish before the release of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. I'll be updating the list during the time period. Suggestions are definitely welcome.]

Gigi,
I was looking for the main villain from 'Last Jedi'. Can you please tell me who the main villain is, if you have seen the movie? I have decided to add one entry per film.

Thanks Gigi.

I have added 'Snoke' and removed 'Kylo Ren', as 'Snoke' was the main villain in the movie.

Okay. That's probably fine, since Kylo Ren was in your 2015 villain poll.

If there are multiple villains like in Dunkirk. should they really be options?

Also for Split and Wonder Woman, I am confused by the choices.

Hi NDP,

In 'Dunkirk', the whole German Army is considered as a single unit of villain in this poll, as they are really shown in the movie as villain.

For 'Split' and 'Wonder Woman', why are you confused?

Villain for
Split: The Beast, Dennis, and Patricia (just seemed weird having just Patricia)
Wonder Woman: Ares

FYC: Ernesto de la Cruz - Coco (2017)

But maybe this could be a little spoiler for people. In the beginning he isn't the villain.

But it's a good option to add. Much better movie than Boss Baby for example.

Thanks Huki.

I have added "The Villain - Coco (2017)". Since there is  a spoiler, I don't want to mention the name.

I really like this one. My vote would go to Dennis from 'Split.'

I'm not sure about the following but I'm not either way, you know?
#19: He's an antagonist for sure but I don't know if this character is a villain, exactly; in fact. it seemed to me that the ambiguity is one of the points of the film.
#23: If my memory is correct, this character seems like the villain at one point in the movie but the real villain is revealed later when this character is somewhat exonerated.
#29: If you're including only one villain per film, does this just say "villain" instead of using a spoiler alert? I guess even "villains" plural would kind of be a spoiler alert, too, so that's probably a good call.

Suzy,

#19 - http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Donald_Pierce

#23 - http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/David_8

#29 - I don't want to spoil any movie plot, that's why I just wrote 'Villain' or 'Murderer' and used movie poster instead of the particular character's image.

Important Note: In some cases a poll containing major spoilers loses it's chance to get featured on home page.

DC,

This is #19 in your list: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls025409701/mediaviewer/rm2500405248

And this is #23: http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Hideo_Kuze
http://www.imdb.com/list/ls025409701/mediaviewer/rm4232458240

I have seen neither film, so I can't be sure, but maybe #19 is not a villain, since he is not listed in the villain wiki.

Gigi,

Thanks.

I have added another option - Francis Francis - The Boss Baby (2017)

The Kuze that is listed in wiki-villains is from the anime Ghost in the Shell and the movie is quite different, including plot changes and development of characters.
That is certainly my memory so I did some exploring and many of the pre-release bits online about the movie have people assuming Kuze is the villain but those were all pre-release when it seems people were simply assuming a pretty straight translation from the anime version. I found this, which definitely lines up with how I remember the movie.

https://moviepilot.com/p/ghost-in-the-shell-remake-plot-anime/4146254

Also, the movie goes on for quite a while after -- spoiler alert -- well, I'll just say Kuze no longer appears in the movie. At the end, the character, Cutter, who has been tyrannical and menacing all along, does something that clearly reveals him as the biggest threat and the narrative arc of the film had been going in that direction for a while. IMDb doesn't so far contain a lot of info on Cutter but there's this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219827/characters/nm0272252?ref_=tt_cl_t11
After reading all that I did, it refreshed my memory and I'm now confident that Kuze was not the villain. He was violent but in a rebellion against the established order, which was engineered and dominated by Cutter.

'Hope that helps. :-)

Oh, I also just saw that in the wiki villain page on the anime Kuze, even he is only described as the "main suspect," although I never saw the anime version so I don't really know anything else.
