Live Poll: An Odyssey Without Greeks

The Odyssey (2026) is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2026 being the first film by Christopher Nolan since his Oscar winning biopic Oppenheimer (2023).

The film stars an international and talented cast that, in the words of Lupita Nyong'o who plays Helen of Troy, intended to be “representative of the world”.

However, despite this noble goal, there is not a single actor of Greek heritage, despite the fact that The Odyssey is one of the most important works of Greece cultural heritage.

If you could cast one actor or actress born in Greece or with Greek heritage to appear in Christopher Nolan's Odyssey, who would you choose?

Great idea Pencho. As a Greek I think Klelia Andriolatou would fit perfect the role of Helen of Troy. Dissapointed with Nolan in this one.

@Aris_Athanas I read an article that there was a lot of discussion in Greek social media about this so I decided to make it into a poll.

I'm not really familiar with Greek actors so I put some of the most popular in the IMDb and some that I saw that won acting awards.

Would you like to suggest someone I may have missed?

@Pencho15 I don't think there are many other famous Greek actors, your list is ok.

@Pencho15 and @Aris_Athanas,

My vote: Michael Chiklis

Has the ancient proverb officially shifted from 'Beware of Greeks bearing gifts' to 'Beware of directors bearing 70mm IMAX prints and an obsession with practical effects'
