Live Poll: Actresses That Need To Make A Comeback

The actresses listed below are well known and at one point or another have made a name for themselves. However for various reasons have not acted appeared onscreen in over five years. Which of these (hopefully only semi-) retired ladies would you most like to see make a comeback?

@jaf_ismael I thought she was already making a comeback. I saw she has an upcoming title listed.

Having a hard time filling the list. Lowered criteria to three years.

Phones Cates

Emma Watson hasn't acted in a while, since principal photography wrapped on December 16, 2018 for Little Women. She has stated that she has lost her passion for acting. Do shorts and other non-acting appearances count?

There also seems to be a fair amount of articles on the topic that would help fill out your list with an internet search for images, articles, and websites "popular retired actresses too soon"

@urbanemovies For know I'm counting any titles (including shorts). I've added Phoebe Cates to the list.

Thank you.

@themoviesmith My personal take is the podcast credits are not acting and are likely no different than giving a interview and should be listed in the category of self.

I guess the shorts are technically acting and I understand your call. I thought it would fall into the semi-retired exclusion you mentioned in your original sentence. The other curveball is the title dates are for their release and not do not reflect when they stopped acting, so there may be a few year lag. Somebody could have retired from acting five years ago, but have a screen credit from as recently as two years ago. (ie Bruce Willis still has upcoming movies credits even though he retired over a year ago and James Dean has posthumous screen credits to his name).

Title Possibilities

Actresses That Need To Make a Comeback

or

Actresses We Miss Dearly, Please Come Back

or

Talented Actresses That Are Sorely Missed

FYC,

These actresses are well-known for thier long runs on a hit television series or in a popular film or film series. However, they have not appeared onscreen in anything over the last three years for various reasons.

Which of these famous actresses, who have either retired or are currently on a long break, would you most like to see make a comeback soon?

@themoviesmith

Thanks for responding so promptly and making the necessary edits. I am sure there are more options, but is not something that is easily searchable.

@themoviesmith  Just a thought, I would take another look at Kelly McGillis and Carrie Henn. Both, seem to fit the spirit of poll theme, as tonbeing retired a long time. These 2020 credits were minor, almost inconsequential appearances, that likely were just a minute or so of screen time and an hour to few hours work, were uncredited or voice acting roles, were likely filmed or recorded in 2019, and are on the cusp of the three year mark as early 2020 releases anyways. I would even hazard a guess, they fall into the "personal favor to a friend" category more than the "working actress" category. Based on their iconic screen roles from the 1980s, I would think are two big names that should make the list, if they qualify to you.

I am just sharing a viewpoint, you could always add them in three months time, if you choose.

@Peter_pbn ,

Obviously you are correct. I selected APA instead of AP by mistake.

I replaced my incorrect post.
