I guess the claim is about having a leading role in both movies rather than just starring in them.

But I think there are several earlier examples where an actor had a leading role in two Best Picture-nominated movies in the same year. In addition to some of those on the Reddit list (Ingrid Bergman, Claudette Colbert and Charles Laughton, at least) there was also Sandra Hüller last year and arguably Robert de Niro in Awakenings and Goodfellas.

I withdraw the suggestion. Perhaps a poll could be made about actors who had leading roles in multiple BP nominees - as you said, seems like there are a lot.

It is still true that it is the third time Chalamet stars in two Best Picture nominees in the same year, so the poll is valid as long as you edit the text a bit.

He may even be the only one to star in two Best Picture nominees in the same year three times.

Since this poll is essentially about Timothee Chalamet's career in the first place, I would recommend just editing the text and asking the underlying question, along the following lines:

Timothée Chalamet had leading roles in two of the Best Picture nominated movies of 2024. This marks the third time that he has starred in two BP nominees the same year. Which set of Best Picture nominated movies starring Chalamet do you prefer?
