Could we please reduce the bumping to max. 3 poll ideas per user a day?

Hi, guys.  Since some times, users post 10-20 and more *bumps* a day. That causes new ideas getting instantly pushed out to page 3, ... 4, ... 5. I don't like that. It's like a very aggressiv advertising. I also think it lowers the quality to push out 5 favorite everything ideas a day, just to claim the subject instead of thinking on more quality. I must admit that this daily rush just to push out competitors goes on my nerves. Did you Look at the people getting boring on that sinking quality? It's not only that we were banned to be reached on at least two clicks from homepage, now also the qualtiy sinks. I remember on times when in a few days a few hundred up to 1.000 votes on a poll were normal. Now 200 votes after weeks are awesome. We don't need the third poll about the favorite actor from - let's say - Stargate. ... And then these ideas get bumped and bumped, and bumped. :(Don't you agree guys?

YES. I've previously mentioned this to two users. I also posted a reminder in "Discussion: Bumping of Threads" two months ago: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdb-poll/discussion-bumping-of-threads/5f4a7a3c8815453dba9eeb55

Why was polls banned from home page?

I'm not a insider, just a user since 12,5 years. So I can only guess. They made the page ready for cellphones and rebuildt it. I guess that's the reason why they've put the polls on page 3. But since then, the voter count began to sink continuously. We were'nt amused about that. But it was irreversible.

It bores me to death! Throwing out 5 suggestions a day is for people who have too much time. That poll thing isn't really fun for me, anymore. There is no really thought about, just a mass output of many "your favorite" polls in the forum, which displace other ideas. And meanwhile there are less and lesser different users active. Ok, if that's the way.

This thread is being bumped, so I find it unfortunate that it is negative about the polls and disparaging of other users.

I think the most prolific users tend to also have a lot of good suggestions. We certainly didn't need KirkPicard to post less. I remember years ago ElMaruecan82 said Aris (Paok) posted too many suggestions. Aris replied that he enjoyed making all his suggestions. There isn't much to say against that.

It took a long time. This posting was 8 month ago. Thank you for reacting. ;D

Then I guess I’ll only write belly-rub threads and posts from now on, so that nothing demeaning can be attributed to me anymore. I hardly write anything as it is and only participate marginally in the forum now, because it seems rather unwelcome to some. If I’m too annoying, I’m also happy to stay away entirely. You just have to say the word. But you’ll probably label this as whining now.

I bumped this thread because I was frustrated with Gabriel who keeps bumping more than three polls per day even though I've repeatedly told him not to. I've also told him that if he insists on bumping more than three, he is welcome to discuss the issue here in this thread.

We can of course request things as Breu did or as we have done in the past, but perhaps Gabriel doesn't recognize that you have the authority to tell him that, and I guess neither do I.

Peter, I've made up the threat at a time when people really exaggerated with bumping everything. I was clear about the fact that it can be used as a tool to express the anger, the annoyance about. I for my share think that it especially is a good tool for admins to show up borders and Jessica did well. If that threat really angers you so much, then delete it. I leave it to the admins, cause I can't decide it. The line in the "delete a threat threat" stands, if the admins want to skip the threat.

Short: The time I made up the threat, I did it with a peace of conscience.

If the admins don't have that authority, then who? He listens when we ask him to make corrections, this shouldn't be any different.

Besides, he seemed to understand the last time I told him three months ago (because he liked my comments), that's why I was so surprised to see that he continued with the bumping.

By the way, I would really prefer to not be the one to have to tell him, but I thought someone should.

The content of poll suggestions is directly related to which polls go live, which is what the poll admins are tasked with. Bumping and posting frequency are not.

Well, my mistake then. I'll just stop caring.
