The poll needs to be updated to reflect the changing landscape of post-Lucas 'Star Wars' projects at LucasFilm. Furthermore, the poll needs to resolve the issue of scant details and image availability for in-development projects. Lastly, the poll needs to be future proofed so as titles move from development to reality, they are still applicable as answer options (Rogue One (2016) and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)).
How should I address these issues in this existing poll to make it and keep it relevant going forward? Any insight would be appreciated, I have listed a few ideas below. Please, advise.
The following are the most recent breaking 'Star Wars' big development news stories.
‘Star Wars’ Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie in Early Development at Disney
August 17, 2017 12:19PM PT Variety - Film News
Sources tell Variety that Disney is in early development on a film centered on Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi and is in talks with “Billy Elliot’s” Stephen Daldry to direct. ..There is not yet a script or a writer, sources say, and it’s currently unknown if this will be the next standalone story in the “Star Wars” universe.
Disney has been developing several standalone pics with the goal of keeping fans buying tickets while they wait for the next episodes in the main new trilogy. “Rogue One” was the first of the standalones, and Disney is currently shooting an untitled origin tale of beloved smuggler Han Solo. Some of the other standalones in development include a Jabba the Hutt story and a Boba Fett movie.
New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy in Works With Rian Johnson, TV Series Also Coming to Disney Streaming Service November 9, 2017 1:55PM PT Variety - Film NewsDisney has closed a deal with director Rian Johnson to develop a new “Star Wars” trilogy, and it is planning a live-action “Star Wars” TV series to air on its entertainment streaming service that is expected to launch by the end of 2019. Disney chairman-CEO Bob Iger announced the “Star Wars” news during the company’s quarterly earnings call. ... Johnson helmed “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which is due out Dec. 15. He’s set to write and direct another trio of “Star Wars” theatrical pics with his longtime collaborator Ram Bergman.
‘Game of Thrones’ Creators to Write, Produce New ‘Star Wars’ Series of Films February 6, 2018 12:35PM PT Variety - Film News
“Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are going to write and produce a new series of “Star Wars” films, Disney announced on Tuesday. The new series will be separate from the main episodic Skywalker saga that started with “Star Wars: A New Hope” and is slated to wrap up with 2019’s “Star Wars: Episode IX.” It will also exist independently from a Rian Johnson-helmed series that was announced last year.

Lastly, future proof the poll so as titles move from development to reality, they are still applicable as answer options (Rogue One (2016) and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)).
Recommended Changes that Fix and Future Proof Without Changing Nature of Poll
1) Updated title with a 'Sans Lucas' preface to resolve issue of two first titles having premiered and that the scope of poll is really Star Wars projects after Disney's purchase of LucasFilm.
2) Updated Disney in development introduction to February 2018 information
3) Future proof and clarify premise of the question: Which past, upcoming or prospective Star Wars live-action installment are you the most excited about that is a post George Lucas creation?
4) Add recently announced Star Wars upcoming projects #7 through #13, reformat answer options, add key personnel notes for comparison and to drive excitement level when scant details are available about the project.
5) Replace images #3 Solo: A Star Wars Story, #4 J.J. Abrams, #6 Simon Kinberg to show either a standardized official poster or driving force person behind the project to eliminate confusing title tags from other Star Wars titles on answer options.
Prospective Revisions
Rogue One (2016) directed by Gareth Edwards.
Movie Premiere: 16 December 2016
Rebels on a mission to steal the plans to Death Star
I can't wait! I need my Star Wars fix now. I don't care whether it is from the original series or a spin-off. Any Stars Wars will do, so long as I don't have to wait too long.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) directed by Rian Johnson.
Movie Premiere: 15 December 2017
The resistance continue the rebellion, but the First Order wins the battle.
I am a purist and excited to see the first "real" Star Wars movie. I have been following the Star Wars saga a long time and can't wait to see what happens next.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) directed by Ron Howard.
Movie Premiere: 25 May 2018
The origin story of a young Han Solo and friends.
Han Solo is my favorite character. I am really glad for him to get his own film. He deserved a bigger role in the original Star Wars trilogy. I miss him already.
Star Wars: Episode IX (2019) directed by J.J. Abrams.
Movie Premiere: 20 December 2019
Expected conclusion of the Rey-Ren trilogy story arc.
This is the one I have been waiting for, I want to see how it all ends after nine episodes and forty plus years. I love final chapters and how they neatly tie it all together.
Star Wars: Underworld with Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore (former key contributor, currently unhelmed)
Series debut: ???
Origin story about a young Boba Fett set primarily in the seedy Coruscant underworld.
This Star Wars installment is long overdue. Finally, we hear the flip side of the story. I am glad the series will focus on the seedier side of the galaxy covering a neglected aspect in a live-action TV series.
Untitled Star Wars Anthology Film authored and led by Simon Kinberg
Expected Movie Premiere: 2020
A 'Star Wars' stand-alone movie from the man behind the X-Men series, Deadpool series and The Martian.
A yet to be announced main character, but speculation focuses on Obi-Wan Kenobi, Boba Fett or Yoda as likely candidates. Surprise Me!
Untitled Star Wars Trilogy: Episode I led by Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman.
Speculative Movie Premiere: 2021
Expected kickoff of the next Star Wars trilogy story arc from the writer-director-producer team of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Looper.
I love beginning chapters and how they introduce both new characters and a new story line. I can't wait to meet a new cast and see how this Star Wars re-invents itself.
Untitled Star Wars Project-Episode 1 led by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
Speculative Movie Premiere: 2022
Expected kickoff of a new Star Wars trilogy story arc from the team that brought you "Games of Thrones".

Expected middle act of the next Star Wars trilogy story arc from the writer-director-producer team of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Looper.

Dan, I am not sure where to post this, but I would like some guidance on how to resolve some issues with a live poll. This poll went live on May the Fourth Be with You 2016 before the first of the new 'Star Wars' movies debuted. Live Poll: 'Star Wars' You Most Want to See I have updated the poll twice as new Star Wars information has come to light over the past year and half.
The poll needs to be updated to reflect the changing landscape of post-Lucas 'Star Wars' projects at LucasFilm. urbanemovies,
You've given this a lot more thought that I have. These are my initial reactions, which are subject to change.
A. This is a good poll. We should tread carefully so that we do not damage it.
B. There comes a point where updating an existing poll may change the original intent of the poll. I do believe we've reached that point with this poll.
C.
If I understand you correctly, you are suggesting updating the title to the following to reflect that this excludes Lucas.
Sans Lucas 'Star Wars' You Most Want to See
That title is probably OK. I'm wondering whether this alternative may be better.
Post Lucas 'Star Wars' You Most Want to See
One difficulty is that Lucas has not entirely divorce himself from Star Wars despite selling the franchise to Disney.
D.
My first reaction is that these are reasonable updates.
I would like to get the reaction of the other admins and poll authors, and give this more thought before I give you a definitive answer

Thanks, the tweaks I would suggest based on your initial thoughts is to put more focus on the Disney acquisition. Thus, averting any issue regarding the level of George Lucas' involvement. ie Which past, upcoming or prospective Star Wars live-action installment are you most excited about that is a Disney Lucasfilm creation?I like the title suggestion, Post Lucas 'Star Wars' You Most Want to See. An alternative could be Disney-Produced 'Star Wars' You Most Want to See. I share your concern for the need to tread lightly, yet have equal concerns the poll will become more broken as time wears on. No rush, let me know any other thoughts you may have.

(UPDATED 27 OCTOBER 2018 CURRENT REVISIONS)
As of November 2018, a new 'Star Wars' live-action movie, the last chapter of the Skywalker 'Star Wars' trilogy, Star Wars: Episode IX (2019) and a new live-action "Star Wars" television series, The Mandalorian are currently in production at Disney's Lucasfilm. Furthermore, two separate announced 'Star Wars' movie series will explore previously unmined material in the Star Wars galaxies. One movie trilogy will be led by Star Wars veterans, Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman. Another film series by the "Game of Thrones" show runner team of David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Plus, on the horizon for the small screen, a live-action TV series led by Jon Favreau will serve as tent pole for Disney's new streaming service set to launch in 2019. I do not understand why you have this as your 15th choice in your update:
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls031426423/mediaviewer/rm3543432960
Anna and the Apocalypse
This choice also doesn't have description unlike the other choices.
I was hoping that others would discuss this update. There hasn't been much discussion.
Otherwise, this is probably OK.

Variety is reporting that “Game of Thrones” and “Narcos” alum Pedro Pascal will be the lead of the upcoming “The Mandalorian” series, which will follow the exploits of a bounty hunter (not named Boba or Jango).
Details surrounding Pascal’s character are not yet known, but series shepherd Jon Favreau has indicated that the show will take place in between the “Star Wars” installments “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens.”

Kathleen Kennedy Says Kevin Feige’s ‘Star Wars’ Movie Is “A Ways Off”
Kathleen Kennedy Gives Status Update on Kevin Feige's Star Wars Film
Comment: This most anticipated 'Star Wars' poll has outlived its usefulness with five options having debuted already and three others being cancelled or in limbo. My preference is for poll deletion, but that doesn't seem like an option at the moment. Therefore, I am adding three recently announced Star Wars projects to the single existing upcoming answer option to make the best of it.
added answer options #10 Star Wars: The Clone Wars (TV Series)#11 Untitled Star Wars/Cassian Andor Series starring , Ewan McGregor, #12 Untitled Star Wars/Kevin Feige Project starring ????

This poll was recently deleted. Both the voting and results pages are gone.
