Yo, NYVKE. I recently saw the fourth Candyman movie. If you've not seen it, then you might not want to ever bother with it for a number of reasons but most notably how it makes a sort of equivalence between the two following scenarios: (1) a lynch mob in the 19th century severing the hand of a designated offender before jamming a hook into the wound in his harm; (2) an agitated team of modern city police officers responding to the sound of a boy's scream not recognizing that a suspect has a hook for a prosthetic hand before gunning him down for being an non-surrendering threat or something like that. The movie's social commentary on gentrification was not terrible, regardless of it being needed or not, so I couldn't really criticize that. Still came off a bit shallow and forced. The original film, even the sequel, were way better than the new one. (I never saw the third movie.) Maybe it still works as a viable slasher flick, but the specter doing the killing is rather selective about whom he victimizes (perhaps due to who does or doesn't treat the curse with respect). The real urban legend at hand in the new version has everything to do with perjurous trigger-happy men working in the emergency response law enforcement profession, but who am I call such a thing myth? The public never really knows how deep any kind of civil service corruption goes, after all.

@jaf_ismael ,

This is a good poll that is suitable for Halloween.

However, I believe the title Best Slasher Killer implies something positive about the act of killing. I'm wondering whether the title Most Notorious Slasher Killer and the question "Who is the most notorious slasher killer?" would be better.

Alternately, you may prefer the title, Best Slasher Villain, with the question "Who is the most best slasher villain?"

Yeah, seeing as how this is an image poll in the characters vein, that makes sense. The settings of the stories do factor into this, though. So, for example, not only is Jason Voorhees frightening, but the way that people can become so vulnerable at Camp Crystal Lake, the lake itself and the surrounding woods. Some of these killers maybe employ more dehumanizing/animalistic homicide techniques than others, or are more or less efficient at injuring victims to the point of death. For sure, some of them are more resilient or harder to kill/defeat/evade than others. Candy Man seems like one of the hardest to defeat or evade, since he is spectral in nature, up there with Fred Kruger, the headless horseman and the cenobites. The scary thing about cenobites is that they are all part of a whole organization of interdimensional beings, maybe even having a command structure, but at least they cannot cross the gateway at will.

Sleepy Hollow, hands down, for being slightly less cliché and less campy.
