These movies actually have a good story but they were poorly executed.

Which of these disappointing movies do you wish to be remade?

FYC:

A Perfect Murder (1998)

Remaking Hitchcock's films is almost always a bad idea. But I'm certain that someone could be a great film out of the premise of Dial M for Murder.

The Bodyguard (1992)

Darkman (1990)

The whole trilogy should be rebooted.

Seventh Son (I) (2014)

The Rocketeer (1991)

I liked '88 Minutes'. Don't know why others didn't.

I never knew until now that it has a Metascore of below 20. Damn!

Good suggestion. Though I want Al Pacino in the remake too.

Some of these have decent IMDb ratings, so calling them horrible seems very subjective.

Even if you cut everything with more than 5.9, you would still have 21 titles.

The list is based on both IMDb rating and Metascore.

Note: Some of these movies already have a remake/reboot, but they are also as bad as the original and some are even worse.

According to your premise, The Daredevil and Punisher tv reboots are ... "as bad as the original and some are even worse[?]"

Their IMDb ratings say otherwise.

When considering, I do not count TV shows. There are shows better than their movies but many of us do not watch TV.

The animated Japanese TV-Series were Cool, but the movie failed:

The story about the Guyver, needs an excellent remake to finally come back in a style which dignifies the stuff.

Yes I know, some like it. I was strongly disappointed by the awful boring story and the lame stage managing. The movie felt like 4 hours of runtime. If you don't agree, you don't have to put it on your list. I just made that suggestion, because many people were disappointed. Did you see Sssssnake Kobra? Good idea which needs an update.

There are so many 'Nightfall' movies. Which one are you referring to?

@BonaFideBOSS 1988 version based on the Asimov short story (he also hated the movie, by the way)

I just noticed that both of my choices are based on works by Isaac Asimov.  He was my favorite science fiction writer when I was a kid.

@BonaFideBOSS,

Asimov's "Nightfall" is a wonderful short story.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightfall_(Asimov_novelette_and_novel)

The 1988 film, Nightfall (1988), is not only truly awful but it is disappointing that a simple powerful story is so utterly destroyed. A respectful remake would be great.

I, Robot (2004) bears little resemblance to Asimov's collection of short stories, "I, Robot". The film ruined one of my favorite characters, Susan Calvin.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I,_Robot

I would have loved to see the adaptation by Harlan Ellison, who collaborated with Asimov himself to create a version which captured the spirit of the original. Asimov is quoted as saying that this screenplay would lead to "the first really adult, complex, worthwhile science fiction movie ever made."

By the way, Isaac Asimov is my favorite author. Sadly, I own only around 20% of his over 500 books.

@dan_dassow Looks like neither of the Asimov tltles were added.

Asimov was my favorite author as a teen and I owned many of his books then (fiction and non fiction).  I find the writing style of Orson Scott Card to be very similar to use in that Card will sometimes write entire chapters of just conversation, much as Asimov did.

'Nightfall' doesn't have enough ratings on IMDb to be considered as good or bad.

'I, Robot' has a good rating of 7.0+ on IMDb and an average on Metascore.

As a rule, I HATE remakes... BUT one movie I think should be (and may have been) remade is the original "Amityville Horror" of 1979.  Horrible acting and writing!  If done correctly, could be a GREAT movie.
