I would put 'Samurai' in the title, I figured "Chanbara" was the name of a director. I'm not a language purist but I understand that one of the purposes of this poll is to introduce us to this word so how about "Favorite  Chanbara (aka Samurai) Movie"

cinephile,

Thank you for making the change that ElMo suggested.

I like the way you define the term Chanbara in your poll introduction.

There are so many classic films in your list, that I'm having a hard time choosing.

Thank you,

It is funny how the IMDb Poll Page doesn't recognize "チャンバラ", the Japanese translation. Instead, they utilized "?????".

Fortunately, the poll itself was able to display the Japanese letters.

cinephile,

We've seen this problem with one of Paok's polls when he used the Greek letter Iota instead of the Latin letter I. The poll software has generally not been updated for over six years, whereas the list software was updated around February 2017.

I suspect that the this will display properly on the poll page once it is no longer a Featured poll.

Do you know whether this is part of the Hiragana, Kanji or Katakana Japanese character set?

I suspect that it is in Katakana.

cinephile,

I also suspect that the characters are part of the Katakana Japanese character set.
