Great suggestion!

I didn't completely spell out that real-life scouting organizations, such as the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Venturers, Girl Guides, Campfire Kids, Navigators, Air Scouts, Sea Scouts, and others are excluded from consideration. I placed the fictional term to focus on scouts in the title and question. Plus, I listed the fictional organizations each troop is associated with in the answer options. I can see how even real-life scouting organizations, can have fictional troops, but I didn't want to make the poll premise overly complicated.

I haven't seen the movie, but based on reference to "welp scouts" or cub scouts and the Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen, the Flemish Boy Scouts organization's condemnation of the "all ages" rating the horror film received, I think it is their junior scouts that are being depicted in the film.

One of the reasons there seems to be more fictional scouting organizations depicted than real-life scouting organization is the creative license it affords the writer.  Likewise, the producer's neither have to seek permission to use the trademark nor to seek approval for the script nor do they have to deal with any backlash once the film debuts. Some films, like Patton Oswalt's indie film Nature Calls skillfully blur the line between whether they are depicting the real-deal or some fake scouting troop.

P.S. I shortened the introduction, so the sentence "In celebration of scouting and its impact on shaping global youth, a set of tribute polls featuring fictional scouting organizations in movies, television series and other media." stands out more.

May I suggest one small edit to the movie poll intro? (It could be applied to the others, too.)

Worldwide, scouts are the largest youth movement in the world with 40 million current members from 223 countries. In celebration of scouting and its impact on shaping global youth, this poll is one of a set of tribute polls featuring fictional scouting organizations in movies, television series and other media.

For the list of series, a suggestion for one small edit:

Which fictional scouting troop from an episodic broadcast, cable or streaming media series do you think it would be most exciting to be a member of?

As suggested earlier, perhaps the intro should say "this poll is one of a set of tribute polls". You could also add a link to the movie poll.

And Ruby suggested an option above in case you missed it.

Can this one be on your honorable mentions? The platypi (it is supposed to be the plural of “Platypus”, which the real plural of the word is platypuses, but the lady who formed the group, Miss Victoria Woodworth, who is also writing a dictionary for bad spellers by listing every form of commonly mis-spelled words and list the word correctly spelled, mis-spelled the plural of Platypus). The kids are the children of rich families and all have numbers after their names (the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th and so on) except Peter - old money, new name. They are taught good manners and also taught miss Woolworth’s particular views like it is the height of impertinence for a scout to offer an old woman to cross the street because maybe she doesn’t want to cross the street or that she is perfectly capable of crossing it herself. The kids adore Fitzwilly but are unaware of his extra activities and he uses them as part of his plan to rob Gimbel’s on Christmas Eve, Gimbel’s busiest night! The sign they are standing under is a great irony joke of who they are and the greed that is going on!

@dgranger Thanks, I  will add this entry. I just recently saw this movie. I agree I like the uniqueness of this scouting organization. As well as, how they figure into how Fitswilly plan to use them for his endgame and his cover to do good by being bad by putting on front of being good.

Gunpowder Milkshake Fictional Scout Troop entry

Based on uniform, this is definitely a fictional scouting organization, but the organization is unnamed in the movie. There are repeated uses of a three leaf clover on different articles of the uniform. So, one would think that is related either directly or symbolically to its name, especially with its prominent placement on the beret and sash.

@urbanemovies I think that is a subtle direct reference to the Girl Scouts which is why the name of the Girl Scout organization wasn’t named in the show. How? The official Girl Scout logo a stylized heraldic “Trefoil”. The Girls Scouts of America openly call it that. A Trefoil, in heraldry,

is a three leaf clover.

@dgranger Thanks, the information about the 'trefoil', it was very interesting and something I did not know.

This is game that movies and TV play. They are very adept at creating either the illusion that it is the girl scouts or boy scouts by not mentioning the name and invoking scouting imagery. The uniforms are so similar that you aren't sure too. Some productions come up with their own scouting organization, but are otherwise are a brazen rip-off.

It so common, I wonder the cause. If the two organizations outright refuse permission or production companies are too lazy to ask permission or don't want to be restricted in what they can do. I'm not sure if either is very litigious or if the production are just lawsuit adverse. There are some examples of the official uniforms and actual scouting organization name being used, so I guess permission can be had.

In this case, the uniform is actually nicer than the official ones. It seems the girl scouts is mostly using sashes and vests nowadays. Thus, making the organization less costly to member of and more accessible to more girls.
