Ratings: Show season ratings for TV series.
In general the rating system work good BUT imho the rating system for series could be improved offering the possibility to vote also for a season rating which could be shown (A) in the main page of a series WITH the "overall rating" or (B) in the main page of ratings, which could be easier (you can already rate the single episodes but that rating is not so visible since you can see it only on the episode page). Why do this? Example: a series like "The Sopranos" has a global rating of 9.2 and would easily get a rating for every season between 9 and 9.5; BUT a series like "Lost" could easily have a very high rating for the first two seasons (possibly over 9) and then the rating would start to fall significantly. (IMHO)I thnk this kind of information a little bit more detailed about the series could be helpful.

I would be interested to see rating by seasons for TV series.
Series like True Detective or Fargo with seasons that are not really following each other could benefit from that.
Is there a reason this is not done already?

BUT with Anthology-Style TV-Series like True Detective or American Horror Story, you should probably think again. I see two possibilities:
1) Let People vote by season (it makes more sense then vote by episode)
2) Let every Season be it's own TV-Series in IMDB
As 1 has been neglected I would suggest No 2. So "AHS: Coven" will be one TV-Series in IMDB and "AHS: Asylum" a different one, just like Harry Potter 7 Pt1 and Pt2.
I think it's important, because many people think that Coven is great but Asylum is just ok, besides there are different characters, different actors, how could that be represented with ONE TV-Series Vote? After all these two ARE seperated TV-Series just under the same franchise.
After all, you would not have to change anything in the code of the site, just treat the seasons of an Anthology-Series like separate TV-Shows by using the subtitle. Easy solution (at least for the future). What do you think?

Hi, long time IMDb-user here.
I have two suggestions, I can't find any other place than here to post them, hope this is the right place.
1) Ability to rate tv seasons.
Reasons:
A) E.g 'Friends', 'The Simpsons' or 'Two and a Half Men', the first seasons were fantastic but as the show continues metal fatigue sets in and the shows is a parody of itself. This means that the overall rating is based on it's good season and as people stop watching or lack interest, they don't correct it
B) TV anthology shows: e.g. 'The Terror', 'True Detective' or 'American Horror Story' where one season can be really to one's liking set in one time-period and another completely different - Then the rating is really misleading.
_____________________________________________________________
2) Make two new sub-category for actors/actresses. 'Voices' and/or 'Videogame'
Reasons:
A) If one scroll down through an actor/Actress credits, and they have made voice-overs or dubbing its tiresome and annoying to find the movie/tvshow where they actually act. e.i 'Adam Sandler' 80 acting credits but 9 is voice-overs or 'Hank Azaria' 97 credits but more than 40 are voice-overs
B) Same as above, Videogames, has nothing to do with acting.

iMDB may have its reason for not having this feature but at least there can be a mechanism where the ratings of all the individual episodes are taken for that particular season and its arithmetic mean is shown as the seasons rating.
This does have a down side, which is not many users vote for individual episodes as they do for the entire season.
But maybe just maybe this might change the trend. The necessity of having a rating for each season and to find out that , rating episodes is the only way might motivate us to rate the episodes as well.

And show the ratings above each season number.

In many of TV series, the quality of each season may totally different from each other. even in notables like GOT and Prison break and...
Why can't rate the individual seasons in the same way that rating each episode?
