Live Poll: The "Un-Scorsese" Scorseses

Comedy, Sports, Romance, and Fantasy are not cinematic genres usually associated with Martin Scorsese, yet he has done them all -- and more. Not all of his films are disturbing and violent and, though he is most famous for Mob movies and characters like Travis Bickle, this is a director with so much range that he is as equally capable of making a masterpiece of a romance novel set in the 19th century or a family film set in Paris. Which of these "Un-Scorsese-like" films, directed by none other than Martin Scorsese, is your favorite?

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls091474318/

Poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/h3f3U4BEuXY/?ref_=po_ho

(Note: How good is Scorsese at these atypical films of his?  The 12 films below with Metascores have an average Metacritic score of 80.3  and only two of the 14 movies have an IMDb rating of below 7.0.)

The Last Temptation of Christ, although on a deeper level, it deals with the very Scorsesian themes of sin, anger and redemption :)

So true. That's one of the things that I think often gets missed about his films, especially the extremely popular and violent films: there are similar themes that run through so many of his films, even if they seem disparate at first glance, and redemption can often be found in the most unlikely of places. That redemption is, to his credit, more nuanced than what many filmmakers do but is nonetheless present so often.

I haven't seen those and somehow they must have gotten past me when I looked through Scorsese's directing credits so thank you so much! I added them, of course.
