Live Poll: Your Favorite Disco Sequence in a Movie

Intro:

Some pretty good movies got disco sequences whether they happen in a building or under free heaven. These movies do not primarily center on music as a subject. Which of these movies' disco sequences is your favorite? (please just vote for the disco part of the movie) Let's dance here.

Statement:

Suggestions rated 6.5/10 and above, better 7 or 8. The movie can not be a musical or music film in generell. The disco sequence should be a part of "the action" or story. (I hope that idea doesn't already exist in that form)

It might useful to have a video link or an image of those disco scenes. I have seen some of those films, but honestly, I can't remember disco scenes.

Thank you. It's a good idea in general. I've done that in my Poll "Scores That Instantly Bring Movies to Your Mind". I just wonder, if the quality of these disco scenes would be enough on youtube. This is not just remembering a theme, the whole sequences should fit at same (good) quality level. Which disco scene do you not remember? I got one option, I'm a little unsure about. Should I count the dance of Vicent Vega and Mia Wallace as a disco sequence? By the others I'm quiet sure. :D

I have not seen Victoria, but considering that the film was done in a single take (a real sequence-shot). I can't vote for something else.

Ok, I kicked 'Pulp Fiction', because it's not really a disco scene, but found videos to each disco sequence. I'm not happy with all of them, bust most of them are really good.

'Great idea for a poll! It's executed really well, too: bravo. And I love that you include links to the videos. This must have taken a lot of work: kudos! My vote will go to Beau Travail, although the scene in Collateral is very good, too.

May I suggest two small edits? (How nice of you, btw, to include this note.)

Be careful: some video sequences contain content which is not suitable for children. Epileptics shouldn't watch the linked videos because of strobe lights and flickering light effects.

('Just changed comma to colon after "careful" and removed the comma after "content.")

I wanted to avoid complications by saving people who shouldn't watch these videos. That's the main cause, why I've chosen the title-format, not the image-format. Another cause is, that in the database sometimes there are no images of several movies about such side-kick issues. And I realized that people might not remember on these disco scenes, like cinephile. So I've put the video-links to the options. But had to warn people to watch because ...

I’m too late. I just found it.

The Godfather of all disco dance scenes. The one that started it all. When Travolta takes over the floor https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LUID0jSh2Ic

in Saturday Night Fever

I don’t if these qualify as disco because yours seam to include flashing lights and a mirrored globe. But disco means the music comes from records (Aka “Discs”), and not primarily a live band.
these don’t have a live band. The music comes from records.
both “Footloose” films: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JyD8BxoB2To

It's more than a year it went live. I'll check it later and maybe ask for another re-push then. One more day won't count, I guess. Thank you for the suggestions.

Beumaster, you might want to upgrade this poll or do a version of it that includes high school dances (like Carrie on the list). Why? Because Spielberg is doing a remake of the musical West Side Story (2021) , and West Side Story (1961). The musical has a high school dance scene in it.
so does “Another Cinderella Story”, “Casper”, “Grease”, “High School Musical”, and “Footloose”. If you don’t do it, I will!

I see you are very bond to the subject. Feel free to reboot the idea. I guess you have a special idea. I'm curious about.

how about this one for your list. There is no mirrored ball but there is flashing Japanese lanterns. Bye Bye Birdie
