Live Poll: Movies that the Poll Board Members Didn’t Expect to Like, but Did

Please contribute to this poll by picking your movie!

Description:
Sometimes a movie doesn’t appeal to you very much and seem mediocre. But you decide to give it try because of that one thing that arouse your interest. Maybe because of an actor you do like, the director or its genre. And then, after watching the movie you are pleasantly surprised. You didn’t expect much of the film, but the movie was (very) good.

These are the movies the IMDb Poll Board didn’t expect to like, but did. Which movie pleasantly surprised you the most?

This poll is a follow-up to the poll Movies That the Poll Board Members Wanted to Like but Didn’t

Oh there are so many.

I'll go with 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'

Animated films have been a disappointment recently, and so I wasn't expecting this to be good, but it turned out to be great.

The soundtrack, the characters, the cinematography, all are marvellous.

Some scenes also gave me goosebumps which is very rare for me to get, especially in animated films.

The preceding animation reply reminded me about The Incredibles and the wonderful short (Boundin') that was part of the theatrical package.
Same for the Broadway-worthy score of the South Park movie. Even as a fan of the TV series, I had no idea that Matt and Trey had such copious musical skills in their DNA strands.

I was a kid, but I remember being forced to watch In & Out (1997) and having a good time.

There are a lot of them. I thought of Coco and Inside Out after reading about animation movies. Also, some recent movies like, A Star is Born, Irishman. I would go with an odd choice that I recently watched.

The Ten Commandments (1956)

I didn't see your comment until today. I felt that this would a lot of nostalgia and not much substance. The length was over 3 hours and the actors didn't have any good movies in recent times (at least I haven't seen). The great 90s actors grouped together in a movie, but that is it. Though, that is why I watched it. I didn't expect to like this, but it exceeded expectations by a mile.

The Legend of 1900 (1998), I went in with no expectations when I first saw this fifteen year old movie. I was shocked at not only how exceptional this movie was, but that it never really got the attention it deserved at the time of its release or that it hadn't developed more of a cult following in the years since.

The Fault in Our Stars (7/10)

This movie had everything to disappoint me (romance, a young adult novel, teenagers), and yet, it is probably the only time that my 6th sense failed for the better.

@cinephile

Another film that I didn't expect to like: The Age of Adaline (7/10). It is also the only film that my cat was able to watch in its entirety XD.

Back to the Future.  I figured it was just going to be some cheesy flick worthy of a riff.  xD

There is a link in the poll intro, but I think you can't see it is a link. For me it's also not visible. But this is my text:
