* Similar to the Academy Awards's "Big Five", the seven main prestige categories of Primetime Emmy Awards are those for Outstanding Series, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Directing and Writing for each three divisions of format programs: Comedy, Drama, and Limited or Anthology series. For the purposes of the poll, streaming or television series with three or more prestige 2026 Primetime Emmy nominations will be considered "leading" and "total" awards will include all the categories presented at the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards (2026) honors the best in American primetime television programming from June 1, 2025, until May 31, 2026. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST from the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, California, USA.
