I don't know why but I liked him he was the 'sexy WASPish' guy but could play sensitive and sleazy and psycho as well ... maybe you should mention that he got 3 Oscar nominations in a row (which is quite a feat)
Anyway, that's all I needed... I had just got the news of my former boss' passing... one year before retirement... and now, that.
