Poll Suggestion: Will Smith Vs. Chris Rock

I think we all saw what happened between Will Smith and Chris Rock but the real question now is. Who would win in a fight? Smith went in with a powerful slap but Rock took it like a champ. Of the two who do you think would win in a no holds barred fight?

I believe this poll suggestion is quite inappropriate. What Will Smith committed is a criminal offense. We shouldn't encourage such behavior.

If you want to make polls on fights go bet on a legit boxing match.

@cinephile I find boxing to be quite a hideous sport. I can't stand seeing the blood and people injuring each other. This here is purely a hypothetical of what may have happened if the situation escalated.

I don't condone violence of any sort and I think that what Will Smith did was morally reprehensible. I'm just curious as to what the general consensus is for who would be the better fighter.

Holy shit just watched the video on youtube.

I want to see Ricky Gervais' reaction to this.

Btw, I agree with @cinephile on this one. It would have been funny, appropriate and acceptable if it was staged. But as per the news and media, it doesn't look staged.

Perhaps you could ask which of these two black comic actors is your favorite and keep the topic separate from the incident that has occurred.

I agree with Cinephile on this.

Offside that: It would have been cool, if Smith would have hidden his machism and fought back with words on Chris Rock. It was just very uncool. When you look at the images, Smith first laughed at the jokes, just his wife's face frowned down. A few moments later he went on the stage and smacked Rock. For me it seemed like she told him to do so. The G.I.Jane joke wasn't so bad according to have a black 007, in future. In show biz it seems normal that someone has a big mouth, so what? In the past they even made fun on Scorsese without the consequence that he would mix two buckets of concrete for the mocking guy. Smith could really have reacted cooler. Humor is an underestimated weapon.

@BonaFideBOSS I didn't think people would be as interested in that. I was really just trying to make a light hearted discussion and thought this was a topical subject.

It's okay. Even I have created such polls before. People around here are going on easy on you because you're new, if it was created by an old author like myself... 😅

Also, I support Will Smith, I'm not supporting what he's done, it was wrong, but If I was in his place, I would've done the same.

Oscars drama shines light on Jada Pinkett Smith's alopecia, condition that causes hair loss

Ok, that wasn't gentleman-like. Now I understand Will Smith a little better, but even then I wouldn't behave like that. It sure is not easy to take that and be calm, but maybe I would like to have seen Smith taken his microphone and told anybody that even Teenagers wouldn't laugh about that joke. And maybe that he would ask the audience if anyone can hire any grown up guy to master that part of the show, because Rock looks like twelve so close to him. I would have liked Smith to ask him, if he (Smith') should shave his (Rock's) head, so Rock could do the next G.I. Jane. Then it would be good, when he left the stage. That would be fair enough. His outburst was way to far outside his dignity.

On the other hand ... how many people knew about her disease? I didn't - maybe Chris Rock didn't know either. If it isn't known widely, the chance of a missunderstanding might be high. Did the Smiths make it public earlier? From interviews I watched, I experienced Jada Pinkett Smith as a strict person, so I didn't expect a weakness. I guess many people didn't. That would explain Chris Rock's surprised face expression, after taking the smack. He seemed to not know what's going on and why he does receive that. I even wonder, if he himself made up the lines or if the lines were given to him!?

I'm pretty sure this is because of that.

I also like to be polemical some times (https://www.imdb.com/list/ls084231074)

it is part of the show business.

You see, this thread got 66 views in 24 hours, I got threads that haven't got 6 views in ONE YEAR...

My main aim here really was just to try and get the most views and comments possible. I didn't think anybody would take offense, I was intending for it just to be a big joke and a fun debate about who could win in a fight.

I'm guessing from the reactions I've seen and the lack of upvotes that people see this as somewhat insensitive. I apologize for any offense caused as it was accidental. We all make bad jokes sometimes :)
