Nice poll idea and good execution for the most part. 

Personally, I would try not to the use of the term, Academy Awards, which was rebranded a decade ago to The Oscars. While it is okay not to use the preferred name for the event, it should be limited in use. Plus, I don't think award events should be italicized or bolded in this situation or at all. For example, you could use a hyperlinked The Oscars or The Razzies to achieve the same effect. Also, it is better to incorporate comments into the sentence, rather than over relying on comments in parathenses.

While The Academy Awards reward the best films of the year, The Golden Raspberry Awards reward the worst ones. Since 1980, The Razzies' Worst Picture has served as the mirrored counterpart to The Oscars' Best Picture.
