FYC, you left his three TV movies (Shelter, Speechless, and Ghost of a Chance) off of your answer pool list. I would include them, especially since he spent two decades writing for television before he broke into feature screenplay writing. Otherwise, use the term "feature films" instead of "movies" in your question to describe the eleven options you list now.

I wouldn't get into his troubles, as is does not serve a purpose in advancing the conversation you are discussing, other than as a possible reason why he is working less. I think it would be better to talk about his WGA career achievement award instead, as it better relates to the topic under discussion. FYI, even the screenplays he wrote during his hot streak that didn't get Oscar nomination were either big blockbusters that did significant box office worldwide or indie features that were nominated elsewhere, including  for the Golden Lion @ the Venice Film Festival.

@Brijesh

I just found another TV movie, Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire (2005) that should be included, but I have changed my opinion on including the other three, as they are so few IMDb votes for them and they likely were lightly seen. Still, it might be good be a good idea to establish a minimum vote threshold that justifies their exclusion (at least posting it on your poll header thread).

Included your suggestions for edits. I wasn't too sure about adding the controversy to begin with but it's better without it.

Changed the question to feature-length films. Including TV movies will add a debate to include TV series and I don't want add them.

@urbanemovies

He is only listed as creator on the Walker Texas Ranger title, with other writers credited for writing it.

Despite the article, it is Ian McLellan Hunter.

@Peter_pbn Thanks, the devil is in the details. I would not call that writing, even though it entails fleshing out the characters and world building. It seems only a matter of degree below getting a story credit. I was surprised he was a co-nominee for original screenplay with only a shared "story by" credit, which may entail anything from helping writing an outline or treatment, to as little as making sure it dovetailed with the preceding companion film, Flag of My Fathers that he wrote the screenplay for.

@Brijesh

Thanks for responding so promptly and making the necessary edits. Fair point on the TV movies, it is a mute point now as the one I thought should be included, Peter pointed since writing credit was for creating the characters.
