I think you should make a distinction between live-action and animated sitcoms (otherwise I would have nominated Homer Simpson) and I find it more interesting to focus on live-action because animation offers so many creative possibilities and relies so much on unrealistic elements that it would be extremely hard for a real character to be as funny as a cartoon.
