@BonaFideBOSS

I think I figured out what the sprinkl glitch is:

when you REPLY your own COMMENT more than ONE TIME it turns your comment into a PRIVATE comment (invisible to other users).

It happened to me before...

I think you're replying to what happened in your companion PS. There, it was my first comment. Hell, it was the first comment on the thread lol. I think it is some kind of spam filter which blocks the message from public view. I added too many links.

Mario, your data is cited from a source that is two years old (2020) and reflects surpressed number due to COVID-19. So, I think it is misleading, as it doesn't reflect the latest numbers or the current state for those industries.

At the very least, add the year in the second sentence or find an article with newer numbers. The global gaming industry went from about $180B in 2020 to $210B in 2022, while the movie industry almost quadrupled off a recent low. I can only assume ticket sales for North American sports experienced a similar rebound, after being shuttered most of the year in 2020. The point is while your statement may have been true in 2020, it doesn't reflect the lastest numbers from 2022 or the current state of those industries. I don't dispute it a faster growing industry, just that it has surpassed the other two combined.

In 2020, the videogame industry was a bigger moneymaker than the global movie and North American sports industries combined. (source: MarketWatch)

@urbanemovies indeed, thank you for pointing this out...

Rewritten text:

By the end of 2023, there will be 2.7 billion gamers worldwide, with 2.5 billion playing on mobile, 1.3 billion playing on PC, and 0.8 billion on console. (source: Newzoo)

Global video game industry revenues surpassed 200 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. (source: Statista)
