This was the rare horror movie that actually looked into the psychology and motivations of the main characters.  It was intelligent and well thought out.  It showed high school kids acting towards each other in a very accurate fashion, along with that huge desire to be accepted and wanted by others.   I was in high school when the film was released and thought it to be a very accurate portrayal.

Everything seemed to mesh in this film: the plot, the story, the acting...  The blood and nudity were not "over the top."  I couldn't pick just one choice because everything meshed.  King even said that this film was better than his book.  It is one of the few horror movies that I actually liked.
