LIVE POLL: Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary 1950s Movies

On April 4, 2023, Warner Bros. Entertainment celebrated the 100th anniversary of its original founding in 1923. It released its first film, Where the North Begins (1923), starring Rin Tin Tin, a few months later. Over the next century, Warner Bros. would go on to become one of the original "Big Five" studios and still holds the distinction today as a current "Big Five" member. Its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery is an international conglomerate with a foothold in all facets of entertainment and a nearly 25% global market share. As a result of its hundred-year effort, the WB movie catalog currently includes a whopping 12,500+ feature films.

Which of these select Warner Bros. produced films released between 1950 and 1959 is its greatest accomplishment during this period?

List One: 'Casablanca'

List Two: 'Streetcar' may be the better movie but I'll say 'Days of Wine and Roses' because of the subject matter, rarely addressed seriously before that. (It's, of course, also a very good movie that boasts great performances from Lemmon and Remick.)

@urbanemovies ,

I just received an email from Turner Classic Movies (TCM) that they are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Warner Bros. during the month of April 2023.

This is a link to their April 2023 schedule:

@dan_dassow Thanks, the schedule is helpful. I already see quite a few movies I have yet to see (scheduled throughout April). As you would expect, every single movie shown in April will be a WB film organized around a theme. Although, I think with the entire library at their disposal they could been more creative (TCM's owner is Warner Bros. Discovery as you probably know already).

The annual March 31 Days of Oscar just wrapped up an hour ago and they literally mentioned the WB 100th anniversary, I kid you not 500 times last month with a series of a half dozen WB-centric four-minute promos between every movie.

I will be curious to see if TCM goes this big for the MGM 100th anniversary in 2024 or the RKO 100th anniversary in 2029. TCM's parent aquired three of the original "Big Five" film libraries over the years. So, I am curious if the self-promotion is about the movies and their library, or if every WB-owned channel will be doing this for the entire month or year.

Fix your poll link in the main text of this OP. Why does it have a ton of nonsense garbage text?
