Live Poll: Tom Hanks Oscarless Years
Tom Hanks was one of the Academy's favorite actors during the 1990's. He won the Best Actor Award back to back with Philadelphia (1993) and Forrest Gump (1994) and got an extra nomination for Saving Private Ryan (1998). It appeared he would take the love of the Academy to the next Century, but after competing for Best Actor for Cast Away (2000) his luck changed.Despite working in many critically acclaimed and Oscar nominated movies, Tom Hanks couldn't nail another nomination for 19 years, when he finally was invited back to the party for his supporting role in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019).For which performance in an Oscar nominated film during his 19 years drought did he deserved at least a nomination? https://www.imdb.com/list/ls507284815/

@Pencho15 What a great idea! And it's so beautifully written. Bravo! My vote: His performance as Ben Bradlee in 'The Post.' I'll never forget that year. I couldn't believe 'The Florida Project' wasn't nominated for Best Picture, especially because they only nominated nine films instead of ten, like they often do and easily could have done; they didn't nominate Brooklynn Prince for 'The Florida Project;' and they didn't nominate Hanks for 'The Post.' Tisk, tisk, lol.

Wow, tough choice, but I think I'd go with Richard Phillips. Or Walt Disney. Correction: For which performance in an Oscar nominated film during his 19 years drought did he deserve at least a nomination?
